I dont know if this is the appropriate site to see if anyone can offer advice on increased spam on my Yahoo email accounts. I have two accounts where suddenly the amount of spam emails I am receiving has gone mad. One of these accounts I use for all sorts of things and the other more for business. I would have expected that if I was receiving spam it would be more likely the first but it is the other way round.
If I am right Yahoo only allows you to block a limited amount of addresses free and not words or phrases on its free service. So without paying if there anything I can do.

Have noticed the same, I have won the loterry and euro millions 7 times this week already, and all those people who need help to reclaim x millions of pounds.0 -
I use a yahoo and hotmail account and out of the both I think hotmail is worse.
My hotmail account seems to always have loads of spam in my inbox instead of it being filtered to Junk box.
Whereas, my yahoo account does a very good job of catching spam and putting it in Junk box.0 -

I have tried looking for forums on this and only came upon one which finished in 2004. Surely there must be loads of users who are fed up with this spam and are lobbying for better steps to be taken to at least minimise it.0

I've noticed the same with my yahoo account, loads of spam.
Re blocking addresses, you can block up to 500. I'm up to about 450 blocked addresses and still on average get about 10 spam messages a day.
With Hotmail I don't actually get any spam, but I only signed up for hotmail to use Messenger and nothing else, Yahoo is my primary email account."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
I dont think that blocking addresses is effective as I believe these people change their addresses each time.
It is more effective to be able to block certain groups of words which I believe can be done on certain emails or if you pay.
My bulk folder is becoming unmanageable and I cannot ignore it because sometimes a genuine message ends up there.0 -

I would have to disagree with you. I get very little spam on my very old Yahoo account. It may just be that your e-mail address has been harvested by spammers.
