Mammoth Post Alert!!
Evening all!
Sorry that I've been missing in action, but I've been really busy all week and had no time/energy to update
London was fabulous. We got there just after 2pm on Monday afternoon so quickly got the tube to the hotel and dumped our bags then went to Oxford Street and Carnaby Street for a bit of light shopping. Carnaby Street was fab - we found the Irregular Choice shop which was brilliant, but I was very restrained and didn't buy anything :A
We also went into Liberty where I looked (and lusted) at the Manolo Blahnik shoes and Mulberry bags. It must be nice to have that kind of money to spend on shoes and bags. I didn't have that kind of money so we headed to Primark :rotfl::rotfl: I have come home with a new jumper from there (£4) and a new jumper-dress (£11) as well as my usual haul of socks and tights. I know my budgetary limits
We went to see Wicked on Monday night which was as brilliant as I expected. I saw it before a few years ago, but in the cheap seats. This time we were front and centre, and the tickets were worth every penny. I've had the songs in my head ever since!!
We had a few hours to kill on Tuesday morning and had seen an advert on the tube for a Ministry Of Food exhibition at the Imperial War Museum. It was all about how Britain managed during and after the war with rationing. We found it absolutely fascinating and I came home with a few souvenirs from that too - a Dig For Victory bag and some postcards. Mr Fresian was particularly amused when he went to the fridge yesterday and found this stuck to the front of it
I spent more than I planned to, which wasn't unexpected. I did keep a lot of change though for my Sealed Pot. I don't spend anything under £1 and keep all £2 coins, so that meant I had to make a couple of extra withdrawals from the cash machine. I'm still roughly in budget though (Details of current money situation are below)
My birthday itself was pretty uneventful, but really nice nonetheless. I managed to get a few cards despite the postal service being pretty rubbish at the moment. Thanks especially to Beanie for sending me something (via huskies I can only assume given the state of the weather where you are!!) and to Palema for the lovely Soap and Glory set!
I ended up going to see The Tourist at the cinema with my best friend and the heading for a little bingo :rotfl: We broke even again, so that was good too. My friend won nothing but I won three times - they must have known it was my birthday! :j
I get paid tomorrow, but am pretending that I don't as it's almost a week earlier than it should be. I'm going to be trying to eke out the money below for as long as I can. I have a freezer full of food though so it's not like we'll starve. Snowmageddon hasn't arrived yet - I'm going to try and trick Mr Fresian into a trip to Tesco before it does :rotfl:

Tree is up (Woo!) so the house feels a bit more Christmassy.
I was up at the crack of the sparrow's fart this morning to go to Boots and get the Soap and Glory offer of the week. I'm looking at it as the chance to try lots of products....I wouldn't pay full price for a new one, but this way they work out at about £2.50 per itemI also bought one for my best friend's Christmas so she's going to be very happy about that!
Not long till Santa comes :j:j:j

Hi thought you would be making a trip to boots. I managed to order one on line. So I will be trying all of it for the first time. Thought I'd try it as everyone raves about it. When are you visiting your parents? and will the snow be a problem again where you are? our small scatter of snow has now gone thank goodness.
