Bah.
Turns out that Mr Fresian's overdraft is due to expire. On Christmas Day. All six hundred sodding quid of it.
Of course, he had the overdraft when he was a student so it was interest-free. Now he's on Jobseekers so it won't get renewed. BAH!
Rest of evening to be spent figuring out how I pull six hundred quid out of my @$$.....

Bledy hell. What is it about men that they don't think to tell you these things untill right before something is about to happen, instead of admitting to it seconds before the event and leaving us responsible ones in the S***?
You have my sympathies, twice now I have found out money problems with literally days to spare - after the second time I took full control!

But if anyone can do it then you can
I get charged 50p per day for being overdrawn, no matter the amount, for anything over £300 overdrawn. Bah.
There aren't enough accounts offering an interest-free overdraft for a decent period of time and there isn't enough time to get a credit card that does super balance transfers. Bah again.
So.
Pay off the overdraft on Christmas Eve using my overdraft facility. I will then be £600 overdrawn as I have no funds to pay this with. When I get the rent money in during January pay this straight into the overdraft. That will mean I'm £300 overdrawn and no longer getting daily fees. I can then PAD to it in dribs and drabs until it's gone.
In theory, that will be less than £5 in charges, but that will of course depend on the c0cking bank holidays.
A plan is formed.
And I'm still debt-free. This is his debt

I forced him to change to online banking after I had to pay £70+ of charges and repay his loan because he thought the loan payments came off on one date (not that he had checked this) and then spent the money *sheesh*
As he's on online banking he doesn't get statements and I hadn't checked his account for a while as I had thought there wasn't any need - he doesn't have any DDs - I didn't realise the overdraft was running out. My bad.
Pain in the @rse though as it's going to curtail my fun at the sales

Right, with the plan in place to sort the Sodding Overdraft, I need to get myself completely up to speed with where my finances are. I knew I had a little bit on my credit card that I was going to be repaying this month so I have done that just now.
Current money situation is:
PAD/Spends - £297.11
Groceries - £170
Entertainment - £50
ISA Savings - £67.92
I also have £19.97 in my Christmas account and have no more presents to buy, so am going to use that to get something nice for Christmas dinner.
There is more money in my PAD account as I had to take £50ish out of there to pay the credit card, and I have put the normal loan payment I would make of £128 into there to replace it and to cover any sales shopping. The credit card is going to be left alone this month until I know exactly where I stand.
I'm hoping I get some Christmas money as I have my eye on something for my cardmaking but can't justify £30 now that I have this bl00dy overdraft to clear
