Yay on finishing work- I finish today and cannot wait!!! :rotfl:
hope you feel better soon- good idea to dose up on day nurse and keep warm - hopefully stave off any bugs lurking!
good news on the window too- not the time of year to have windows taken in and out I wouldnt have thought!
enjoy the first day of your hols0 -
Morning!
Unfortunately plans for rest have been thwarted. Builders have turned up for last day before New Year so idea of lying in bed is 'out the window' (groan at pun), I can already hear sawing and general banging. I hate being in my pjs when there's strange men in the house so need to get dressed. I also need to pick up DD's present from John Lewis, and another present for friend who is coming round tonight, so a trek into town is now on the cards.
The window has been replaced tyo :eek: - the one they supplied had not been fitted as we weren't sure about it. Now it has been fitted, but only roughly and there is some sort of whistling wind coming round the sides of it :eek: - very cold in the kitchen! On the plus side all of the brushes have gone inside our new double glazed sashes and so no more gaps for cold air to come in!
Right, to do list:
* [STRIKE]pick up DD's present from John Lewis[/STRIKE] done
* [STRIKE]clear dining room table[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]get present for friend tried and failed, have asked OH to sort it out[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]wrap present can't do as haven't got it, but have another load of presents downstairs to wrap[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]tidy living room have had a 10 minute tidy up, waiting for builder to go so can finish[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]hoover downstairs ditto[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]tidy hallway ditto[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]check OH is going to pick up some food for us and friends tonight[/STRIKE] yes, he is
* pull up Corex from floor label where it is from and put away til new year
* [STRIKE]drop in request for repeat prescription to doctors[/STRIKE] done, collect on Friday
And generally ignore the fact I feel dreadful :rotfl:!

Morning my lovely,
Shame about the window- but on that note I can fully recommend using the fleeces as curtain linings, cheap & very effective.
That's a nasty list for someone who is feeling ill. My DD still full of cough & cold & although today was meant to be the last day at her school, they actually closed early yesterday due to [STRIKE]lack of interest [/STRIKE] 'adverse weather & high pupil absence'. I can feel the same lurgy brewing within me but am trying desperately to ignore it & carry on as there is so much to do.
Hope you manage you list & feel better soon

Builder still here :eek: and have friends coming round soon so need to just try and tidy round him.
Have had nice afternoon with DD in bed with leccy blanket on, watching chihuahua videos on youtube and playing mathletics online.
Oh, and lamp came :j! Have set it up, am actually looking forward to waking up tomorrow :rotfl:!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Are you feeling any better? I feel like I need a duvet day!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

Better than yesterday, but not 100%. Yes, a duvet day sounds good. If builder doesn't come tomorrow I will have a very long lie in with DD (once OH goes to work, that is the only problem, he wakes me up getting ready. But with my new alarm clock I will be awake anyway.... don't know whether to set it or not now!)Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Managed to get the house much straighter yesterday afternoon - dining room table cleared, living room tidied, hoovered and swept downstairs. OH nearly burst into tears when he came in, it was such an improvement!
Had friends over for dinner - OH sorted out present, and food. We have been given loads of cheese and wine for Xmas so opened some of that. Friend bought a beautiful bottle of champagne, has been so long since I had the proper stuff forgot how tasty it was! Was lovely to see them, and OH made a gorgeous chilli con carne.
However, having a few drinks was not a good idea, I barely slept last night - I had loads of strange dreams and kept waking up to check if the lamp was working :rotfl:! So v tired today, and I have a v v upset tummy. On the plus side the lamp did really seem to make a difference to our mood this morning, the real test will be in the new year when I'm back at work.
No sign of builder yet, hopefully he won't come today. Plan is to laze in bed, do mathletics with DD, read a book and watch a film. We have been invited over to see friends new house, about 1 mile away (another local friend) which we will do in the evening.
OH got a new phone yesterday, a HTC wildfire for £143. I thought he deserved a treat after saving so hard this year and his old phone was really on its way out (we did get 3 years out of it!). He has gone for a really good sim only deal too, so phone contract will drop from £20 a month to £10. Plus he seems a lot happier with the moneysaving thing now he has a new toy.
I'm now considering a new phone myself as after 2 years mine has lost half its back and takes forever to turn on (10 mins is a long time when you REALLY need to text someone!). Only thing is I don't know anything about mobile phones and don't want to spend an absolute fortune, although would like a half decent internet connection with it. Not too fussed on loads of apps or sat nav, as long as I can check the prices of books on Amazon. Any advice?Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Today has been one of those days. DD has been an absolute pain, just whinged and nagged all day, by about 5pm this evening I was in tears. My tummy is still v v sore. Part of it is I had an ideal Xmas in my head, taking DD to carol concerts and to see the lights in town etc - instead we are both very tired and under the weather and I don't think I can do much more than just hang around.
Did manage to go buy card and a frame, and spent the afternoon making friend a new house picture, with her address embroidered on the bottom. I am quite proud of it, and my friend seemed to like it too. We popped over for 5 mins, they have boiler problems - read no heating :eek:- and vendors took out all the light fittings, but the house is really nice, with good size rooms so am sure when they get on top of it they will be very happy there.
OH home, we are going to have dinner, write shopping list, and retire to bed early with Mad Men on DVD. Hoping tomorrow will be a better day mood wise.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Had bad night with DD - she couldn't stop coughing so couldn't get to sleep
- ended up watching film with her at midnight to try and keep her mind off things. Went on almost all night - so not much sleep in the MW household
Taking her to emergency appointment at doctors shortly, and will pick up prescription. Today we have to do our Xmas food shopping, wrapping, and will pop into neighbours and another friend's house to exchange presents. Expect bleary eyed purchasing of random food stuff, none of which will make a meal!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Aw mw sorry DD was being hard work- sounds like she is poorly and tired too which doesnt make for a great combination!!
Good luck with the xmas food shop , dont be too hard on yourself if you end up with a random feast- thats what xmas is for after all ! If you can eat selection packs for breakfast (thats how tyo household works! :rotfl: ) then it doesnt really matter if things go together!
have a good xmas0
