Yeh it sometimes naffs me off too, she goes away on her dominatrix weekends with her matesand leaves me to fend for myself and often forgets to unlock the cuffs so I'm stuck in one room.

:) I'm looking forward to going more often.. I love football, not as much as him, but it's nice to be included lol ! I may buy my own next season 2011/2012 if all goes well.

We have even compromised on his birthday weekend, his birthday is on the Friday and they are playing on the Sat, I won't get a ticket though as it's against Man Utd, so I've offered to drive, drop him off and go shopping for a few hours whilst he is at the game. We are in Leeds, so otherwise if he went Liverpool on his own I wouldn't see him all day. We are both happy with that. I guess you shouldn't alienate someone in a relationship or override them with your own hobby, being included in the smallest way possible can sometimes be enough.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Why can't he get a lift with this group of fishing buddies so that the family car (?) remains at home and you get the use of it in his absence? (I'm assuming that you are a qualified driver)

My OH goes running every other day, this week he also raced on Tuesday evening, is racing tonight and again on Saturday. He races most weekends if it doesn't clash with work. He was away for the weekend in May doing a 24 hr event and will be away overnight in August competing in a 24hr event, but that one is cycling so no doubt there'll be more training required before he does that one.

It keeps him out of my hair and luckily the prizes for fell running races are often bottles of booze so I've told him to keep winning bottles of wine to keep me sweet.

how old are your boys? if you have some beautiful countryside close, nature walks are a great free hobby, buy a few pairs of binoculars and a few nature books (could get these from the library to start of with) and then head out, do a competition for the boys in regards of which ever spots the most animals/species of bird etc wins a 'big' (100-200gram) bar of chocolate and the other gets a smaller (50gram) bar

my mum and dad used to do this with me and my brother and i still remember how much fun it was, just make sure you set some rules before you go out as to what can be counted for example first one to spot it and you varify it gets the point, and that you cant count every singal sparrow/ant so its only one point per species

over all this would cost less than £1.50 for the chocolate prize's and the initial purchase of 2-3 pairs of binoculars (can pick them up for less than £10 a pair for some cheap ones)

EDIT just spotted your boys are 9 and 3 so probably a bit unfair on the 3 year old....
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

    ah geegee well!
his work put them onto a four day week if they worked more hours in the day now every friday which should be his day off they ask him to work and he says yes and that does my head in too as he could be spending it with me kid free as theyr at school or playschool for half the day!!!
thats the thing id love to make a point but id feel guilty:o

Why would you feel guilty? Is he being paid for the overtime? If not, I think it's only reasonable that he declines at least once every other week. It is good to show flexibility with work, but you have to watch out that they don't take advantage and just expect you to do it.

pinkshoes im scared of other drivers if i had a hummer you wouldnt stop me but anyway its just another expense isnt it? x

I used to be too, but I also grew desparate for the independence it brings. I bit the bullet and started lessons and I've never looked back! I've even driven from Germany to Holland now (driving over here used to scare me too!). YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

euronorris thats a lovely idea about the family fishing the boys are 3 and 9, OH's fishing is just a group of male mates - No reason why you can't join though, right? Seriously, you might find that your OH is delighted that you're interested in his hobby!
yeah we will look at other things to do i think, itl have to be a weekend as i work 5 nights a week xx

Fabulous, get some plans together for some lovely family weekends and the odd couples weekend too. As I understand it, time without the kids is just as important ;)
