there's alot to factor in:
- travel time - will that upset them in their routine sleeping and miss a slot or two
- travel distance - will they sleep or even sit still for that long
- air plane high pressure
- resort, are the floors safe from dirt, germs, and if it's tiles in the room ones crawling and just about standing and topple over can injur themselves
- food, obviously can't take much of your own etc.
- heat - will they be able to bear the heat
- limited to own creature comforts etc.
each baby/toddler is different and each parent is different, but there is a lot to consider and then if you do go and splash out £ks on a holiday, you might not get time to enjoy it if the baby/toddler doesn't
these posts are amusing you would think babies do not exist in spain and are brought in by a stork on their second birthday :rotfl:0 -

LOL.
I have friends whi live in Mallorca and their baby was born there last June. Never been any probs with getting baby stuff, never been sunburnt etc
Ive carted 3 of mine around from the time my eldest was 3 months old- she is now 19 and never had any issues. Mind you i did get a lot of comments last year when taking a 5 yr old to New York- supposedly not child friendly, however he loved it and keeps asking to go back0 -

Mine went to Vegas (along with other west coast places) when he was 3 and my sis was with us with her 1 year old.0 -
hi
Try and not to worry, children are fine in the heat, mine have bneen away at 4 months old to cyprus, then at 14 months and so on every year to different places. They do have children in spain, that are fine with the heat, you are thinking of problems before they even happen.
You just need to make sure you have lots of sun cream, and just be sensible, as you would here in the heat, where i am at the mo the temp has been in the high 70's and 80's and tomorrow is meant to be hotter then spain,.
And as for routines, mine go out of the window on holiday, its about you all haing a good family holiday, and not having to stick to a routine, and mine are in a strict routine at home, and they always go back to it fine when we come home.
Lifes to short, go for it and enjoy it, i love looking back at the pictures of mine when they were really small on holiday abroad.
By the way Alcudia is great to go to in majorca, really lovely place.
If your not sure about the heat, go in the uk, you can bet you bottom dollar on it in the uk in august it wont be hot.0 -
i've seen alcudia come up on my search
where did you stay? also how far is it from airport?0 -

Just out of curiosity in Vegas was there much to occupy your little one?
I have been before but do not remember if there was anything for kids to do,having said that I never looked.
I had booked to go Vegas and cancun twin centre but decided to go Orlando instead because I was unsure about taking her to Vegas.
The post about dirty tiled floors etc nade me laugh, anyone would think Spain is the only place ever to get dirty tiled floors and sunshine.0 -
Hi
Alcudia is the north of the island, and takes around an hour and a half from the aiport.
We ahev stayed there a few times, we stayed in the Bellevue, and anothere but cant remember the name, we have also stayed in the resorts
Pollensa
Can picafort
Cala dor
They were all really good, you cant go wrong with Majorca, thats why it is one of the best family resorts to go too.
We have also been to menorca, which is just for famlies, nice place, just a bit quite for us now, as ours are older, there we stayed in son bou, which had a fab beach.
Hope you find something, were off to portugal in 5 weeks and cant wait.0 -
Have you considered leaving the baby with grandparents? That way everyone wins. Baby can stay on routine. Mum & Dad get a true break and time together without having to think about nappies/feeds. Grandparens will probably be in their element and you don't have to lug the kitchen sink in a suitcase to places far and wide. Have a think about the options before you rush in and book something here, that would just be like being at home, but without all of the things that make life easier.0

A nice hotel we went to that caters for children was Alcudia Pins in Majorca. It is right on a huge clean beach, which is perfect with a baby as no carrying loads of stuff & straight back to room if any probs. Don't know prices now though0
