If people who were unable to provide any help had minded their own business, or simply said that they did not participate - rather than attempt to take the moral high ground - I would have moved on elsewhere.
Your attitude really doesn't improve any does it. Which is a good thing cos you won't be able to climb out of the hole you're digging, so please do carry on0 -
Would you all like to end this discussion now as I get fed up of seeing there is a new post on this thread and it is not immediately relevant to Valued Opinions.
Thanks0 -
How exactly does a thread like this reach 104 pages if you're not allowed to discuss the surveys?0

I am really enjoying Valued Opinions.
The surveys are good and a few coming through and not too slow either.Blogging and earning online.

Is anyone aware that the Notify app configures your browser to send website data (HTTP and HTTPS) through 127.0.0.1 port 16110.
Basically tracking your every move on the web. Tracking your website activity using a web-debugging tool called Fiddler, that gets installed alongside the app.
Credit card detals? Passwords? Who knows who or where our browsing activities will end up. There are a lot of Indemnity clauses in the EULA and Privacy Policy. Paranoia? or healthy suspicion?.
Anyone else notice web slowdowns and pages failing to load soon after it was installed?

Interesting. I never download any of those very helpful and harmless (!) programs received from those nice multinational market research companies.
I don't know a huge amount about computers, but I did do a "whois" search on the 127.0.0.1 address. It is a reserved address used for programs which need to communicate with other programs on the same computer. I don't know if that involves snooping or not, but I certainly wouldn't risk it without expert advice.
It's very long, but here are almost all of the data thrown up by my search:

Yeah, looks like that's what is exactly happening. 127.0.0.1 is known to me from using security software in the past, it isn't inherently dangerous.
The port number after the IP address is important as it probably points to which program its sending data to.
I'm not a mega expert on ports and "under the hood" computing myself. The company is based in Australia. I will do more research

True. Which is what I pointed out.Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930
