  • I had posted a few days that I had joined talk talk. I want to disconnect the same..

Its only 2 days I have joined. I have not received any welcome pack. I assume there should be no problem cancelling the service as I had subscribed online as per distance selling regulation I can cancell any order within 7 days or receiving.. does anyone sees any problem. Has anyone faced any problem on cancellation

Does anyone have the contact number for talk talk cancellation

You can cancel under this right within 7 working days providing you have not got any of their services yet. It has to be in written form so I'd recommend emailing the two email address that have been noted for Charles Dunstone, the c/s email address, and any other email address for them, etc. Mark it as important and maybe put in the subject "Cancellation of contract under Distance Selling Regulations 2000". This is legally acceptable but you could go one further and send the email as a snail-mail to their address as recorded delivery as well.

Providing you do the above and you haven't had any service from them and it is still within or even on the 7 working day you should be fine.
  • Further to my previous post,
My go live date has come and gone. I have emailed and phoned on several occassions asking them at TalkTalk to place the manual order to get the tag removed from my previous supplier E7broadband.
Still no joy so i emailed my complaint to Charles Dunstone both email addresses at close of business yesterday.
Today I received a letter saying I dont suppose you know your MAC code
I waisted no time in phoning them again and got passed from one section to another, put on hold, cut off etc etc.
I called again at 5pm and just spoke to a guy called Rory who said he has done the manual order request for someone else yesterday and phoned BTwholesale who adviced he placed a fresh order request and all should be done within 14 days.
Lord knows I hope this guy is for real as i am so sick of being told lie after lie and placed on hold, cut off, etc etc.
I just want my broadband up and running again like yesterday would be nice

I think that when I joined up way back in April (Jeez it seems so long ago) my telephone contract started almost immediately, however as stated, you can cancel within 7 days under the distance selling regs.

    Hi all you TT fans,

Well, after finally being connected a month late, all seems to be well.....apart from......Talk Talk's awful webmail server. It keeps trhowing up error messages and losing messages etc. etc. More frustrating than anything else. However, here are a few links that may solve these problems. If one plays up, try the next one.......

  • I had the same problems with Talk Talk that everyone else did, but, instead of hanging on the end of the phone waiting for the clueless Indian Call Centre operative to answer, I took the decision to visit the local Car Phone Warehouse. It would have been very easy to give them grief but I decided that I would stay calm and hopefully they would be able to achieve what I hadnt been able to. The end result was that I received the modem and software within two working days of my visit to CPW.

Tip!! Dont waste hours ringing and sending emails. Go to CPW and let them do the work

Better still, use a generic e-mail instead (hotmail or googlemail) as you main address.

Googlemail allows free POP3 access, forwarding and over 2.7Gb of storage (never delete another e-mail).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Yahoo mail also supports POP3 access, etc as well except it does have storage limitation of 1gb.

Hotmail doesn't support POP3 access and forwarding unless you pay extra for the facility and has limited storage last time I checked.

I've had so much spam from yahoo addresses in the past, I have a filter set up to delete them all now.

  • Obviously quite a few people have had bad experience, and I admit the understanding of the english language by some of the call centre staff has a lot to be desired.

In my case I placed my order on August 3rd, the telephone line transferred on August 17th, and Broadband became live on August 30th. Not a bad time frame in all honesty.

My telephone and Broadband welcome packs were just over a week late, i.e. arrived a week after activation. In those instances I did call the Customer Service department.

The "Talk3 with Broadband" product itself has been faultless so-far, as has the e-billing service. Webmail has thrown the odd "wobbly" but nothing a second attempt hasn't resolved.

All in, I guess I'm a pretty content customer so-far!

    Andy.
