Surely only if the carer is under retirement age?

Yes; I can see now that I worded my comment about this badly.

my mate that is blind has a kettle that has a fixed tipper on it and fills up the cold water with a plastic jug might help a little, also the travel mugs have a very chunky handle what i have to use x
I was thinking partially on that but I am now looking at the prospect of a kettle that has a small built in pump and fixed tube similar to the coffee frothers, where by all you have to do is press a button on top thus hands are away from the boiling liquid, I have discounted any filling method as that can easily be done with a small tube or jug as you say and is a variable you cannot build in due to differing locations, but in saying that it would be possible to have a fixed coupling for the tube, hopefully when I go in tomorrow I can get the workshop to build a starter model to test and develop. And before I get the inevitable diot saying I am another example of someone profiting from the weakness of others, every device I have done for disabled users has been made and sold at virtualy cost price with a percentage of stock given to various organisations that help disabled, my profits come from the able bodied who are vain enough to want the products and gullable enough to pay over the odds for it, even though I have to say it is top quality build.

We've got to nearly 1000 posts, and many of them are still concerning themselves with the testing regime announced in the budget. This strikes me as a pretty low "thread drift" factor.

And, so far, no one has mentioned their cat, (I don't have one!), climate change, Princess Diana, or the England Manager (I think). These are the usual standards which tell you that a thread has entered its terminal phase.

Someone wanted the thread killed (on grounds of repetition) - that list will usually do it.

I would say yes the thread has diversified, but in saying that it has also diversified in a way that a lot have found useful and I myself have learned a lot about the UK system of medicval examinations from this and some people have given me some inspirational ideas, so if anyone complains then please refer them to the reply given in the case of Arkell vs. Pressdram 1971.

And if you take out the bickering about; I need it , oh yes I do, and the counterplay oh no you don't, we would be left with about 50 posts, ring a bell?. All these go the same way, its my right, or no, you don't deserve it.

The post was about changes to the system. So why does it have to attract all the, dare I say, "extremist" views either way????????.

I have had my input, tried to keep it questioning or factually neutral. I think I'm in a minority :o:o

Maybe we should just rename the post,

My Doctors know I have voices and suicide attempts in the past. My risk assessment was at high, meaning I could not be alone with a nurse or doctor etc.

The risk is low fom what I am aware and things have been ok with me for a while.
However I don't jump in to my GP when the voices getting concerning etc, therefore looks like am okay.

If I was to go to my GP I would be there nearly 3 times a week, nothing they can do!

therefore on this I may be declined DLA. If so I will appeal and no doubt that will cost the Govt more money. how much will the medicals for ALL people on DLA cost then others coming on to DLA be?

I know someone in an almost identical situation to you. When all this was announced, he told me he would try and explain his refusal for the assessment and also that his records bear no resemblance to his actual condition for the past couple of years since there's nothing they (doc's) can really do. There's also been some misconduct issues that his care team tried to cover up. If DWP/ATOS/Whoever refuse the request, he said he'll tell them to stick it but will end up homeless in 4 weeks as other benefits will stop and he won't be able to afford his rent.

Although the fine details are yet to be announced, they seem to be disproportionately unfair to those with severe mental health problems and the often hidden issues that come with having such problems.
