i would ignore kk,onw, sdw and victory, they are all past it,and have forgotten what it's like to be younger than 60,and think they know more about disabilities, than the person who is disabled.think people should put up with it and say nothing.
they forget times are moving!!!! away from the draconian days

Well I must say I'm a bit annoyed about being on that list! I do know several people who have disabilities, most of them claim DLA. They are my personal friends and are all under forty, some of them under thirty. I'm sure they don't see me like that. Then again they are not grizzling about it all the time either.

And I DO agree with people having what they are entitled to. I just think it should be checked and monitored and not assumed that things have not changed in ten years.

Ans I'm certainly not past it, my husband and I are buying a fast and powerful motorbike tomorrow!

(I don't think what you said applies to the other people on the list either).

Looking after a disabled person is completely different to being disabled.

My husband has had rheumatoid arthritis for 20 years. Just about to commence on anti TNF treatment after failing 2 dmards. Are you having to get someone do the methotrexate injections for you as you haven't the manual dexterity for the needle and syringes?

Think I know what it is about. i've pushed the wheelchair, cut up the food, showered and dried him, dressed him etc. Listened to him groaning in pain everytime he turns over in bed. Fought for him to have the very best treatments available.

i met a lady last month who is having the anti TNFs. She was dancing, running up stairs etc. She said it was like a miracle
you personally have no idea what it is like to suffer pain daily, you have no idea what real pain is like, and until you do experience it you cannot say you do
i came into the world with nothing, and guess what? i still have it!!!:p

I thank posts of people who I believe have made a valid contribution to the thread.

I have no idea who thanks whom, I don't go round checking such things, in spite of having Aspie tendencies.

Firstly, the powers that be make the decisions when to check, nothing to do with claimants. DLA can be and is re-assessed in some cases every single year. I'd imagine lifetime awards are what you're referring to? I should think with those it involves detailed examinations with GPs and Consultants etc and are not awarded lightly - perhaps someone with more knowledge that I can jump in?

I know people who have had cataracts, had them removed and are partially sighted. Not as simple as you think.
