Budget - tougher for DLA claimants

I don't know what they'd do with me at a medical. I work, I'm independant but I still have a serious heart condition and was awarded an indefinite MRC LRM. A 5 minute medical wouldn't get even a remote chance at seeing how i'm affected on a bad day.

Bipolar is a disability....its a mental health illness for which a person takes meds for the rest of there lives for, for which alot of people spend sometime in hospital for, they have extreme highs and lows where one min, they may wish to harm themselves and even kill themselvess, and the next highs where they do alsorts of things, and say things they often carnt recall, im sure a person with bipolar will still be able to claim DLA, and if they knock you off it your Pdoc will be able to over rule them, oh and yes when some one with bipolar is high they carnt drive or operate machenriy, oh the list could go on....please read up on this disability as thats excatly what it is, it is not just deprrsion as you put it.

this would depend on if it is your doctor that does the medical. my son is used to his doctors and even then doesnt like to be touched. its an autistic thing.

Which is exactly what they are doing, if you are medically incapable of working then there should be no issues with a a medical. If however you have a bad back which is only eased by doing heavy gardening tasks and downhill skiing in france 3 times a year funded by DLA then you may have problems.

These allowances are funded by the tax payer, the tax payer has a right to expect that all due checks are made to avoid abuse of the system.

This reminds me of the issue about carry ID cards, if you are innocent it shouldn't bother you, however if you are guilty you want to avoid getting caught out.

The more checks the merrier I say

Itrs nothing to do with capability to work though...

You can claim DLA and work.

You can actually get money for feeling depressed, damn I have just been getting on with life and struggling through. Now I know I can get the taxpayer to give me money because I have had a bad week things are looking up. :rotfl:
