Generali - The phone line tax thing confuzzled me too, had never heard of it.

IIRC was going to be 50p per month on your landline rental to pay for broadband to be set up in areas not currently receiving good broadband services and general infrastructure improvements.

    Loving this budget so far.

    Surprisingly little pain.

Personal allowance to rise to £7475, so more money in most peoples pocket.

    MSE crashed.

    Income tax:
Increase in personal allowance by £1,000 (quite right too).
BR taxpayers will gain. 880,000 taxpayers will come out of income tax.
Long term aim to make tax free allowance £10,000

My aunt will be relieved about the capital gains measure....she was very worried about the much reported and predicted 40%.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

There must be quite a few people actually better off with this budget, especially pensioners.
