Thanks Generali. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Banks, public sector etc are the losers, mainly. And the middle classes who - for some reason - feel they need benefits.
The budget is a non-issue really. The real event is the public sector spending review scheduled for Autumn.0 -
So who is actually losing out then?
High paid public sector workers, and the benefits blaggers. Families on 50K that think they need child benefits.
VAT up but not til next year, and most people won't notice it.
CGT perfectly acceptable, firesale of property cancelled.:rotfl:
Love it.
MUCH better than expected.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
-- President John F. Kennedy”0 -
Priority:
Fairness - all contribute. Richest pay more as a proportion of income as well as in £ terms. Coalition to be different [blah]. Claimed 'progressive' for the Tories.
Final decisions:
-Earnings link to be restored after being broken by Thatcher but never restored by Labour. Will be reintroduced. State pension up by 2.5% or eanrings, whichever is greater.
- Additional help for the poor. CTC to rise by £115 more than inflation. No rise in child poverty over the next 2 years.
It is a progressive budget apparently!
Disgraceful comment, it was due to be relinked in 2012.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

ILW - I think the quietly mentioned sale of the Student Loan Books will have an enormous impact on recent graduates. More of the salary likely going to pay that back.0

Excellent budget by the Government.
It just puts into stark perspective the absolute pile of s***e Browna and Darling were by comparison.0
