muesli/cereal bars recipes?

Hi raven,
This is my favourite. They freeze well but will keep fresh for up to a week in an airtight container.
Cereal/snack bars
5 oz butter
3 oz brown sugar
1tablespoon golden syrup
7 oz porridge oats
½ oz mixed seeds (I use pumpkin, sunflower, sesame and linseed)
½ oz dessicated coconut
½ oz chopped nuts
small handful raisins or other dried fruit
Melt butter, sugar and syrup in a saucepan until disolved.
Add dry ingredients into the syrup mix and stir until well coated.
Press into a well greased baking tin.
Cook at 180 degrees for around 20 minutes until lightly golden. Keep a close eye as they can burn easily.
Remove from the oven and mark slices with a knife but leave in the tin until completely cold or they’ll fall to bits when you try to get them out.
I think you could probably substitute honey and/or molasses for the golden syrup for a slightly heathier option and you can mix and match with the nuts/fruit adding in or leaving out anything you don't like.
There are lots more recipes on this thread that should help:

I've just done this recipe too - very similar to a flapjack recipe I have used. I actually bought some good muesli from Lidl and added some cranberries and peanuts - just made sure the weight was the same as the recipe for dry ingredients. They look brilliant.0 -
hi
i did this recipe last week, but instead of raw plums used some plum jam, (and put the spices in the dry mix), then this week i used a few raspberries and some chopped white choc in the middle. I cut them into 16 large portions and we have them wrapped in the freezer and i take them out each day for lunchboxes :-) i did do it with less butter than the recipe too, as some of the comments were it was a bit buttery and watching the waistline a bit:T:rotfl:nov grocery challenge, £.227.69/300, 9/25 nsd: , 7 Cmo, 10 egm.

DD's like these, but the price of them is getting ridiculous, so I'm looking for some recipes! Not the healthiest, but they like the ones with chocolate chips, so if you have recipes for those, that would be great!!!0
