SPC2 #571 - trying to get as much as possible0 -
I'm spending a fortune on the breakfast bars and it got me thinking, surely I can make my own a lot cheaper.
So can anyone point me in the right direction, I have a bag of meusli but no idea how to go about it.To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Old Style board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=8736367#post8736367 This is the link for "The Complete Cooking Collection", if you scroll through it you'll see links for various cereal bars under cereals and also under snacks.0

Hi dori2o,
There's an earlier thread with lots of recipes that should help so I've added your thread to that one to keep the recipes together.

I made some 'chewy' muesli bars yesterday, but although I followed the recipe precisely they're rock solid and not in the slightest bit chewy, does anybody have any ideas what I did wrong or how I can make the next batch softer?0

Just wondering whether any of you make hm cereal bars or other snack bars and would be happy to share the recipe? Also could they be made once a week and keep?
Just thinking of snacks for OH and DS2 instead of using Mr T's.
It would probably help if they looked unhealthy but weren't!
The only one I've found so far was apple and cinnamon bars.

I can heartily recommend Twinks homemade hobnobs done in a tray & cut up into fingers. I've just taken some out of the oven now actually. They have got butter & sugar in them but also porridge oats. I don't know about them keeping for a week though they rarely last more than a day here!! I think some people on here freeze them. Search for Twinks hobnobs or someone will come along that can do a link thing - I can't I really must learn. HTH0
