I think I have missed a few posts, but are you paying half the rent? If so, I would say that you shouldn't be, as you are not getting any benefit from the extra bedroom. Maybe this would be a good reason to negotiate a more fair rent?
I agree, I wouldnt pay a half share if only one room whilst the other person had his own room plus his business (which he will be offsetting some expenses re that anyway). Seems very unfair to have to pay half - I could understand if you were a couple but not if not.0
