hi- appologies if posting in the wrong place. My sister in law told me that we may qualify for free laptop and internet access. so i checked out this site and seemed to qualify so called the number which i answered yes to all questions until what benefits do you get which i said child tax credit and working credit then the man said working tax credit rules you out straight away. Basically if you work you dont qualify. My oh is a carer on really low wages but is the sole provider for me and our 4 daughters 8,7,5 and 8 month old. Does this sound right? Any advice gratefullly received.

If you get WTC it does mean you wouldnt qualify so they are correct.
It had to be income based JSA or IS to qualify - basically non working households.0 -
One of the requirements was that your children qualify to receive free school lunches - so they're right, if you're working and receive wtc, then no, you wouldn't qualify.0

thanks for your replies- its so typical. If you dont bother to work then you get everything free but if you try to do your bit eg my husband working as a carer for £6.10ph you get penalised. Broken Britain extreme. if we didnt have a morgage we would be so much better off. So annoying.0

Why do you resent people getting something for free? If you were in the same position would you be moaning now? I doubt you will
I dont agree with it but that doesn't mean to say I resent others who do
By the way your husband does a great job and I think carers do deserve more and I have seen what acres do and not easy jobthanks for your replies- its so typical. You have just reminded me of another pointless benefit that should be done away with!

we wouldnt be in the same position because my husband has pride and would not rely totally on others to support us. signing on was never an option for us.0
