I was only diagnosed with it in December last year and at the same time got told I have EDS,But have had constant back pain for about 9 years now(meds are rubbish) my back locks up a lot especially if i am in a bent over position for to long for example if DS is in the bath if i bend over the bath to get him out my back locks up so it can make life difficult but my eldest DD is a great help.

I was told if I don't change my lifestyle and start to pace myself I will end up in a wheelchair because of it but its not so easy to change your life with 3 kids :(

I have heard if it gets to bad when they are kids they can operate on it but not sure how bad it has to be for them to do that.

DS couldn't tell us if he was in pain and it can be so frustrating but its much easier now he can communicate with the makaton as he can tell us if it hurts anywere.

Thanks mummyslittleboy, it must be so difficult with 3 kids.

My LO has had about 10 operations on hers so far, so they will operate if it is bad enough, she had her first op for scoliosis when she was 11 months old.

    Hi,

    In my HHC i

    Collected laundry
    Wm x 1
    Watered plants
    Sorted recycling
    Put dry dishes away
    Washed up
    S & S Kitchen
made a start on the toy corner

I'm going to have 10 mins sitting down and then i'm going to attack the toy corner some more in another HHC at 1.40.

Well i've just sorted through a load of paperwork and got a full black bag full of paper ready for recycling in a fortnight. The rooms looks better than it did, and all without moving my backside :rotfl:

Got loads of it still to do but i'm going to leave that for another day. So going to sort through some material i think.

Right going to have cuppa , more pain killers as my knee is totally throbbing ben i have my dermatologist appointment in the Septmeber 2010. A full four months after seeing my GP.

That is why I am happier with DD4 being 7.. at least now she can tell me when and where it hurts.. even if she cannot tell me why or what type of pain. Though, looking at her back muscles in spasm last week it was obvious where and what type... the type that makes you want to swear every time you move.. at least muscle pain is fairly easy to sort out.. May need to brush up my massage skills though! The orthopaedic chap is concerned abot her developing scoliosis as her left side is becoming more prone to these muscle spasms.. we can but hope it doesn't!

And I have been asleep for the last hour and a half.. think I may have been a little tired.. hopefully I can stay awake through the meeting tonight then!

    OH making a cuppa.. :D

Oh bless her that is a lot of operations but as long as it is helping her thats all that matters.

It can be difficult but to be honest it's thanks to all of you that I am finding life easier I try and stick to the list as much as possible each day and even the kids will check the list and do jobs on it for me and that way I can pace myself:D

Just had some good news I have an appointment for physio:T it has just been dropped through the door by postman has taken 6 months wait just to get a letter to ring them and book appointment all because my Dr mis read My Rheumy report and didn't refer me until May:mad: he thought Rheumy had referred me in December!

The toy corner has been sorted, it just needs to be distributed now. I've also sorted 1/2 of the bookshelf in the living room. I've almost filled a paper recycling bag already, 1/4 plastic one, a carrier bag of rubbish, 1/2 carrier of stuff to car boot and a pile of books to put on the book swap sites. I'm having 5 mins sit down and then i'll carry on until it's time to pick the boys up.
