I don't believe it *said in best Victor Meldrew voice* Just had an email from school saying kids can be collected early tomorrow (at 2.30 instead of 3pm) because of the England match kicking off at 3pm.
I am livid now football is being put above children's education  it would never happen for any other sport no matter how 'important' the occasion.

And what ridiculously short notice if you are working, and how annoyed you would be if you had been offered a doc/dentist/hosp appt then and turned it down so they wouldn't miss any schooling. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

I imagine there are a lot of people who think it's a good ideaneedless to say I shan't join the debate there.

Unfortunately it's true to form of school at the moment. I always try to arrange appointments outside of school hours for the kids as I believe education is important.
Email fired off to school with promise of letters to the governors and the LEA on the matter
Going to step away now and get some sorting done, amazing how anger can manifest itself :rotfl:Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

Afternoon. DD2 went off in the coach this morning along with the other kids. Lots of parents looking a bit peaky at the prospect. Some kids looked at bit peaky, too. They all seemed to be wearing sportswear, trackie bottoms and sweatshirts and were dragging suitcases that looked big enough to smuggle an anxious parent inside.
And my one?
Propped up diagonally across a bench, Converse wedged under the small case she packed herself, long black bleachwash denim-clad drainpipe legs making her look impossibly tall for someone so little (she's all leg), black & thin magenta striped long sleeve top, purple plaid shirt (a la Kurt Cobain), black fingerless gloves, sunnies and hat, fiddling with her iPod.
Yup, you really can spot which kid is mine.

I'm at that weird stage of sleep deprivation where a ten minute catnap will do me for the next 18 hours [NOOOOOO!], so I have been doing lots of flying to stay awake.
Well, I've emptied the bin and wiped a spillage down, anyway
Piggers - the Environment section of the council should have the details of beekeepers if the yellow pages doesn't.
Oh - and yes. Schoolfriend did update FB 5 minutes after giving birth, but to be fair, it is about her 7th, and she only spent 5 hours from waters breaking to birth, including 4 and a half of them with no contractions - in the last half hour, she had three mild urges to push and her little girl was there, all safe and well!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
