Opinion on mini roundabout crash

Hello
I'd be interested in any opinions on a knock I had last week. I've only been driving 7 weeks so was quite scary.
Basically I was crossing a mini roundabout straight across it. The exit is to me beyond 12 o clock - i was taught to indicate right if the exit is beyond 12 which is what I did. Appraching the exit I then indicated left to show I would be turning off.
Anyway, a guy came onto the mini r from the left and went into me, hit me on the front right side at my wheel hub and some damage to just below my front light
It was all very polite, although he said to me I didn't see any indication.
I think this is immaterial as you do not have to indicate if going straight across, plus you have to give way from the right (ie where I was coming from).
He rang before and said he'd been the garage who told him it would be 50 50, and did I want to just leave it at that.
I said no, I also have a witness who said he saw him cross over the give way line when I was well onto the roundabout and getting ready to turn off. I think it was a case of him misjudging my speed and thinking he could make it across the mini r before I got there.
Boyfriend was with me which was lucky as I was shaking a lot!
Below is a link to the roundabout from google maps.
For him to have hit me where he did, the front of my car was basically approaching the middle of his give way line (from the left). Does that make sense?
Its my dads car and hes on hols till monday so its really his choice about what we do.
Ive not had much luck with this car, some of you may have read about someone siphoning off my petrol the first week I had it!

You had right of way. End of discussion IMO. Tell him to shove his 50:50 up his balloon knot.0

lol this made me laugh!
thanks for that:rotfl:0 -
Aye, a second for the balloon knot. You were already on the roundabout no matter what you were indicating.0

I'd say you were turning right as I think there are only 3 entrances/exits onto that roundabout ... dodgy internet here. So, you were on the roundabout, indicating right, turning right. He must have seen you go onto the roundabout before he reached it. His fault. 50:50 is just him trying it on and the insurance company being cheap/lazy.0

You were already on the roundabout so you had right of way. I agree with others about telling him to get stuffed with his 50:50 idea.
I hate mini roundabouts, I was forced to a stop the other night because of some knob to my right failing to indicate to turn to his left. :mad:0 -
Sounds like the OP was in the right but roundabouts are often taken as 50/50 even when it seems obvious that one person is right and one is wrong.0

Just for clarification, how did he hit your right hand wheel hub area if he entered from the left? Did he go right round the roundabout THEN strike your car?
Where was his car damaged?0 -

You should indicate if going straight on if this isn't the 1st exit, and even if it isn't, it can be a benefit to other road users to do so.
I realise this isn't the case in question here, but needs pointing outI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
