Just a note to say that I haven't moved this over to the Nations boards, England section, as it is a short time bargin and could get missed over there.:)

welshblob wrote:As a fellow Portsmouth resident I agree, does London really need 3 !!! You have to admit the big empty space on their locations map between the croydon, bristol and birmingham stores does need to be filled. They have been threatening to open one down here in the South for a number of years. They finally agreed on Southampton in 2001 but have had planning problems and I think its on the back burner :-(
As for the person who thought you can get from Portsmouth to Croydon in an hour be careful as there are lots of speed cameras about ;-)
Cheers

It will be soon. IKEA has confirmed it's building a store in Milton Keynes, to be complete by the end of the year. Jobs are already being advertised hereCould you do with a Money Makeover?

To all those night shopping owls dont forget to come and tell us which bargains you got0

Just came back from Ikea Edmonton. I got there at 7.30pm and there was already a queue of about 200 in front of me. Was told by an official at around 9pm that they only had 100 leather sofas available, 200 blue cotton sofas and another 100 red cotton sofas. Limited to one per 'transaction'.
Some were angry that they didn't publicise the numbers available before hand and made their frustrations clear. Although the ads did say "while stocks last".
It was cold and in the end I got fed up and left at around 9.30pm.
Good luck to everyone who's still there!0 -
I went to Ikea Edmonton at around 10pm and there were over 300 people in the queue.
I think I'll buy my sofa at full price next week !0 -
 I have just had a phone call (about 1/2 hour ago) that all hell has broken loose behind (now closed) doors, an ambulance and all0

Was it not on the opening of an Ikea in an Asian country that people were trampled to death etc in the rush when they opened?0

Bloody hell, i live very close to ikea. About 10 minutes away, so i thought i would pop down there at 12.
The traffic on the road was crazy so i left......did anyone manage to get a bargain?0 -
 there has been reportings of a sofa being carried safely to a car by the person who actually bought it.
My other half was given a mcdonalds sandwich by ikea whilst in the queue. maybe i should of posted that on the freebies board.0
