Howabout the fans of the winning team end up paying for all the fans of the loosing teams who attended the world cup?
It must be accepted as a principle that the rifle cannot replace the speed of the horse, the magnetism of the charge and the terror of cold steel.

England football team - I'm trying to decide if these words are an oxymoron or a paradox.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Scotland has a football team? Really, or are you joking?

I only discovered last week that Scotland had a cricket team.

You learn something new every day.

Scotland's football team qualified for the 1978 World Cup. England didn't qualify, so the BBC kept referring to Scotland as "Great Britain's representatives in the World Cup" to the annoyance of many Scots.

However Scotland didn't get very far in the tournament.

It was a disaster well before the first Match, starting off with players too busy porking other players G\F's, the lack of any football music theme, then came injuries, disqualifications, demotions, in all a complete hogwash before the first game even heard a whistle.

Aside from the excuses (also pre-matched) from the air pressure, the type of ball, the Vavu-valu-the Horn. (a bad workman and his tools scenario), it boiled down to them being absolutely !!!!. I am waiting for the ultimate "It was the African Voodoo Curse that was responsible".

I am almost certain the Manager placed bets on opposite teams, as his format didnt work the first time, and worked even LESS the second time, in fact I dont think it has EVER worked.

How quickly I took my flags back down to save myself the humiliation of admitting I wasted £3 on them. Fortunately I am not daft enough to spend a fortune going to Africa to watch them play from a position of the back of some arena, obscured by a pole whilst squinting to see a ball amid the dancing wig wearing crowds blowing an irritating horn at each other. Preffering the convenience of getting a front row view in the comfort of my armchair placed firmly in front of the Big Screen, with a remote bearing an OFF button when it goes belly up.

I may possibly peek at the next England match, so long as it doesnt interfere with a repeated episode of Road Wars, but the enthusiasm has already withered away, they may well win it, by sheer luck - but I think thats as far as they will go before crawling back to the Uk to an airport with maybe one or two autograph hunters to egg them on.

This is what we should be concentrating our efforts on and forgetting about football.

The England rugby team have great successes and they hardly get a mention..!!

Wilky does it again...! Hes ten times the man and player that Rooney is.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

After the England-USA game I told my family how proud I was to be Scottish. At least we try!!

To be fair, in football it is the results that count, not the trying! :rotfl::rotfl:
