Why are people mentioning the word 'team' in relation to England? I have seen no team!

They looked divided,dejected and disengaged from the day they arrived.

They are not a team.

They are a group of individuals who have just turned up for an appointment.

I predict that after their next match,they will be coming home and then there will be the traditional scapegoat hunt because someone has to take the rap for it.

Heaven knows why the England team are so hyped up. It must be some kind of Empirical or Colonial throwback to a greater age.

Rooney needs to be dropped, and so does Heskey, he needs to play Joe Cole and Peter Couch alot more thsn they are getting.
Oh and Gerrard needs to be in the middle!!

Why is Cappello so scared of making changes?? what's that all about, if it's not working - change it.

I'm no football fan, but as DH had the match on I watched it too.
Our little village team is at this moment putting on a better performance (I can see the game from my garden).....

They actually look like they're, er, TRYING. :T

Players played with fear last night , afraid of what conceding could do to them and as for stringing 2 passes together everybody seemed not to know their own positions and roles. Heskey should not even be in the squad let alone the 1st XI , same goes for Carragher and I am a Liverpool fan , Carra has the aura of 2005 Istanbul still covering up his lack of pace and constant fouling when he should not even get in the Liverpool team now scouser or not ! Thing is Joe Cole a natural left winger is on the bench and Gerrard gets played there just so both he and Lampard can be played in the same XI , DROP Lampard get Carrick or Milner in his place alongside Barry and let Gerrard back up behind Rooney with Joe n Lennon on the wings for crying out loud and give Dawson a shot at centre back he had a brilliant season at Spurs unlike Carra , sad times but still think we will go thru and just think 4-0 Vs Slovenia and the whole nation will be bouncing again and forgetting these past 2 games.....IF we win

It was a shockingly bad performance. I've followed England home and away for the last 12 years or so and went to all 3 group games in Germany for the 2006 world cup. I was gutted that I simply couldn't afford to go to South Africa for this one but it turns out i'm glad I didn't bother. I think we'll win on Wednesday but don't think we'll go any further than the quarter finals.

I think the team needs a serious shake up on Wednesday and 2 or 3 players need to be dropped. The only time I want to see Heskey with 3 lions on his chest is if he's being eaten by them
