Well just had an email from paypal;
"The tracking information you provided was invalid, and we were unable to confirm delivery of the item associated with this claim. As a result, the case is now considered closed and we are unable to process a refund."
I expected it, but OMG I am furious!!
What is the point of paypal? thought they were there to protect purchases..they are absolutely useless!
Please don't tell me 'no they're fabulous and that I'm a fool', I don't need that at the moment..looking for support and advice here people!!
There is full protection, it is Royal mail that have let you down here not paypal. What do you honestly expect them to do when you have no proof at all that seller has the item back? This is absolutely the correct decision and if they had refunded merely because you can show you posted something to the seller which didn't arrive then then it would have bene a travesty.
Your argument here is with Royal Mail, so start dealing with them now to recover at least some of your costs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree soolin, but just feel not listened to by paypal.
I know paypal just can't take my word for everything, I need proof. I do understand that.
I have a RM claim form in front of me as I type, is there anything I should or should not do now? never filled out one of these before.
Also what do I do if the item is returned to me by RM? can I contact paypal again and re-send the item back to seller?0 -
Online it says "
"Item
was posted at Spar Supermarket BT19 1DL on 26/05/10 and is being progressed through our network for delivery". It has stated this for over 3 weeks now.
Hi Belle, I had an item I sent Recorded Delivery that says the same thing as yours online and I received feedback from the buyer so it had been delivered. From online you cannot tell whether it has been delivered or not.
I hope you get it sorted. xI must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0 -

That is quite usual in many areas with recorded and that is why recorded is not worth the money .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Are royal mail really going to give compensation? The item was fake, so is worth next to nothing.0

When I get recorded delivery items from my postman he gets a signature but when it's a larger item delivered by a van, he just hands them to me and doesn't even ask for a signature. This shows the problem with recorded delivery items.
I would ring the seller's sorting office and ask if the parcel is there (they just need the house number and road/postcode). Otherwise it's either been delivered or has gone astray. Maybe you'd get more joy speaking to the sorting office direct rather than the Royal Mail call centre.
If the item is returned to you then this thread may help (basically trading standards got the buyer a refund when Karen Millan wouldn't confirm the item was a fake) https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/20052870 -

The item is a suspected fake, it has not been proved to be a fake. The item was worth what the buyer paid for it, therefore if they send a print out of the original payment page to prove value it will probably be OK. I certainly wouldn't be suggesting to the PO that it was in any way fake as I suspect that would make a big difference and i'm not even sure that we are allowed to send fakes in the post.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As I said previously. The seller may not have actually received the item back.0

I tend to always think RM have lost it before I consider any other possibility. My mother still reminds me that for two years running I 'alledgedly' sent her a package for her birthday which never arrived. It wasn't until items from my sister (who my mother adores) also failed to arrive that she eventually believed me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. :rotfl::rotfl:
I have a similar family situation!
I just wanted to let the OP know that the seller may not be the scammer she believes, things that show as being processed don't always mean the buyer is having the seller on.0
