My daughter (17) has a classic mini, £50 a month provisional, then just under £500 a year including breakdown and recovery on a classic policy when she passes.
Also cheap to tax, and cheap to run as well.

Could I ask which insurance broker this is with? I desperately wanted a mini/moggie minor when I was buying my car, but eventually went for the sensible choice. :(

Collingwoodannual, then Footman James when she's passed.
They've also given me an excellent quote on my beach buggy for summer, as a kit car policy.

Ah right. I tried FJ at the time without much success.

There are about a thousand threads asking (and answering) the same questions on the insurance board ;)

I didn't have time to search this morning, so had to post and run:D

Don't touch the golf, way too high insurance, and expensive parts if anything happens to it.

Corsa and clio are in group 1 though.

    Group 1 cars

Group 2 has a bit better choice,

Polo in there is ok, no self respecting teenager would have one, same with the suzuki, so they should be at the bottom of the price range too.

This is really useful, thanks very much:A

Still a Fiesta, so still problematic.

What is it with those stick on flowers anyway? They look awful and mean you have to faff about with T-cut before you can sell the car.

Thank you all for your replies, he's had a look at the Saxo, likes it but sounds like he'll be disappointed if he can't get cheaper insurance, he's also very interested in a W REG Punto which no-one has mentioned so I'm going to look for some quotes on that (not holding my breath though)!

My son(18) has just bought himself a peugeot 106 because it was the cheapest to insure. He is saving for the insurance I think the cheapest quote my OH found for him was around £1500 from Admiral through one of the comparision sites comparethemarket.com.

(Quote included both parents as additional drivers)

Someone else said this to me today -seems strange but we'll try that:cool: Is it likely to work out better with one additional adult or 2?

Also, would it be more beneficial to put him down as a full time student or employed? Both of these can apply to him
