I have some very OS friends and some "definitely not" OS friends :) A lot of people we know are starting to get brave the more I serve up when they come to visit of OS food the more they try themselves.
My main problem with OS food is that I have a TINY freezer (fridge freezer) and it's just not big enough - simple as that. I need to save for a shed in the garden and then a freezer :( But that just isn't going too well... a whole different story...

Anyway christmas this year will be very OS. I want home made decorations, food and a lot of the pressies are OS/MSE. The more I read the more ideas I get :) Tonight I will chop the last veggies that I didn't get chopped yesterday and freeze them, then I'll start on my shopping list and present list for x-mas. Don't laugh but my wish list so far is: "Chest freezer, Shed, sewing machine (or donation towards any of the above)" do I need to get out more?

My DH is very keen on OS, to an extent. Loves vinegar:D but overdoses washing liquid when washing clothes:mad: . Better than me at recycling :D but also snacks and eats extra stuff before and after meals which is often prepackaged salami and expensive cheese:mad: . But he supports me and loves the food I make:p . Otherwise it's about 40% of friends who OS to any extent. And to many of them rely on the 'bing' from the microwave:eek:  . I have at least got some of them to MSE so they are on the road. They just keep stopping at expensive hotels!

In work I get envy. Envy! from people who smell the food and see the things I can do. Many are happy to spend £25 per week on lunches  until I point out that that would be, over a year, a trip to Thailand for a month with food and accommodation!:rotfl:

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!

Ye gods and little fishes - I don't wish to offend but I've never 'preached' about my lifestyle to anyone. I've hardly mentioned it; not that I've many people to talk to anyhow. So Dannahaz, please don't try to convert me to yours. Bless ya hun!

Twink, we've ONLY got 18 now! I've rescued 62 so far (not all at once) and tbh they aren't 'my babies' - they were homeless, as was Justin138, so I took them in, and they stayed for some obscure reason :rotfl: Six would seem like the house was empty now!

Linda, if you ever want any help with veganism, or my favourite ethical goodies, please just p.m me :) Ooooh, I've just remembered about the Dr Hadwen Trust - yummy yummy - *goes to find catalogue*....brb

p.s. Oh, and watch this space..... I'm awaiting the 'OK go-ahead' from Gingham Ribbon to post something I hope you'll find exciting.

I am an ex vegan, and have been able to be very OS both as a vegan and a meat eater.:)
My friends and I are getting a little network of kids' clothes recycling, as many of us have children close in ages who benefit from a steady supply of 'new' clothes from each other :)

Those big cats aren't really extravagent, it's the vets bills that are outrageous :(
