After my post yesterday i had a phone call from my mum that my grandad had passed away:(

Although his been in hositpal since May after his stroke it came as quite a shock as the hositpal phoned my nan yesterday saying if we can make room for a bed downstairs and sort out some carers he can come home as his doing so well. Then 4 hours later she had a call saying he had passed away. We dont know why yet, last time i saw him he had given up of ever getting home and hated being stuck in the hostipal with nothing to but stare at the same walls everyday. Im gutted my baby will never get to meet him:( he had told me he wouldnt make it until my baby was born i told him not to be silly as his fought so many heart attacks and things before. I thought he would live on until his 90's.
Now im worried about my nan she is 84 and my grandad done all the money side of things and shopping. she doesnt have a clue were my grandad kept all the important documents etc.

Saw your post yest on facebook, so sorry for your grandad. I know what you mean about being gutted for him not meeting your baby but he'll watch over him, I'm pretty sure.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandad, thinking of you x
  • I'm so sorry you lost your grandad and I really hope your grandma copes the very best possible in this situation, its a blessing they had each other for so long but the other side of the coin is that he will probably be 'part' of her so she may could really struggle without him after so long.

I am sorry that in the end it came as such a shock and I hope you are able to keep strong for you and the baby x

I'm so sorry. I know it's hard, but when my grandad died I took some comfort in knowing that he wasn't in pain anymore. At least nothing can hurt him where he is now xx

Thanks for all your kind messages :A

Im doing ok i was at my nans on tuesday trying to help her find all the important paperwork she needs to sort out the funeral etc.
My nan and grandads first child died shortly after birth and they had it made so that when they die the grave can be dug to bury them above the babies coffin so they share the same grave together. We cant find the document anywhere that says they can do this.
My grandads office is full of paperwork and he used to do genealogy for our family and for many others, so it could take a while to find!
So im not sure when the funeral will be yet, hopefully it wont be on my birthday tuesday.

Then to top things off early hours in the morning yesterday someone scraped the bumper on my car turning round and drove off. The damage isnt too bad a friend should be able to machine polish it off for me as it hasnt gone too deep.

And tuesday OH's car failed badly at its MOT:mad: he bought it from the car auctions so i wasnt surprised. It had 6 things wrong with it! All to do with suspension, tyres, suspension arms so all very pricey. It was deemed to dangerous to drive as well. So his got a free courtesy car will the work is being done. But he also decided while its in to have a service and cambelt done before it snaps as its due. So the grand total for thatis £1300! So the money he saved buying it from the auction he had to use on fixing it up. grrrr, when will he learn i dont know!

I was up early this morning cutting down half the hedge at the front of the house as it was over grown and my OH kept scraping his car down the side of it when he parked on the drive. Now the poor hedge is a brown dead mess!:rotfl:

I popped to Asda and yesterday and got some lovely bargins in there clothing sale i bought 7 items for £11 shorts, trousers, tops for 6-9 months and 9-12 months ready for summer next year for my little one. :D

We still dont have a name for the baby yet, i think we will just get a few together and choose when his born.
Sleeping is becoming hard already i cant get comfy at all even with my maternity pillow. On my sides is so uncomfy and they say not to sleep on your back but im finding its the only way i can get any sleep ATM.
His kicks are getting harder and harder and make me jump sometimes.
Im growing huge! Ive put on 1 stone 7lbs so far!!! Amazing seeing that i read in a book baby will be weighing just over 2lb so far!:rotfl:This boobs must weigh half a stone!:rotfl:

Anyway look at my huge ramble!

    xx

Sorry to hear about your Grandad and the bad time you have been having. All sounds like a bit of a nightmare. Hopefully it will all get better for you. Hope you are enjoying maternity leave.
