they should enjoy the oil slick. the animals are. look at those little fella's rubbing it on and then coming on to the beach to get a tan.

also note the brown pelicans. they are called brown pelicans because they are BROWN. they were brown before the oil slick.

btw did you just choose to ignore this

    http://www.channel4.com/news/articles/politics/international_politics/cameron+to+discuss+the+bp+oil+spill+with+obama/3678327

"President Obama said to the prime minister that his unequivocal view was that BP was a multinational global company and that frustrations about the oil spill had nothing to do with national identity.

"The prime minister stressed the economic importance of BP to the UK, US and other countries. The president made clear that he had no interest in undermining BP's value."

In a statement on the phone conversation, the White House said: "The President and the Prime Minister discussed the impact of the tragic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, reiterating that BP must do all it can to respond effectively to the situation."

no they don't. it is the longer version of the name and has maybe been used a couple of times. i still say british telecom sometimes.

    Wrong!

The company became BP in the 1980s
BP plc[2] (formerly British Petroleum Co. Ltd[3][4][5])

You can call BP British Petroleum or Becky's pssuy if you like. The name of the company is BP regardless.

Can't remember the last time I said I was going up to the 'British Petroleum' garage to put petrol in my car.

Look, just because we have all our offshore oil wells outside Scotland doesnt mean everyone puts their oil rigs in a place no one cares about.

The Americans are gutted about the Gulf spill, and so they should be.

Are you saying that no one cares about Scotland?

They should also be gutted about what their country has done environmentally around the world as well, but they are not.

Uhm, as someone living in Scotland I can assure you that I - and a great deal many others - would care of something like this happened.

You forget that it's not just the UK that has an interest there; pretty much every country that borders onto the North Sea would be affected.

I am sorry my kilt wearing , bag blowing shortbread eating friend, but you are hopelessly misguided about this.

WHO reports estimate that you could pour in excess of 10,000,000 gallons of crude on Glasgow before the local weegies even became aware anything had happened.

the americans aren't being anti-british. they are being anti-bp. it's coincidental that bp is british. the british are being ridiculously pro-british in trying to defend them.

americans have a big financial interest in bp too. i think they are aware of that. but the environmental impact outweighs that.

if the oil was washing up on cornwall do you think we'd all be trying to come to bps defense?

Would that be British Petroleum icon7.gif

British Petroleum merged with Amoco (formerly Standard Oil of Indiana) in December 1998,[32] becoming BP Amoco plc.[33] In 2000, BP Amoco acquired Arco (Atlantic Richfield Co.)[34] and Burmah Castrol plc.[35] In 2001 the company formally renamed itself as BP plc
