I have returned from an all-inclusive holiday.I was very ill on holiday and on return I had to sit with the air stewards (back of plane). On return I went to the doctors and was also admitted to hospital. Results are confirmed campylobacter due to food poisoning.
I have holiday insurance for this holiday but is it to late to make a claim as my holiday was totally ruined and I have not been able to work for 3 weeks!!

Did you make a complaint while you were there? I think your claim may lie with Thomson rather than the insurance, unless you have medical bills.
Where did you go?0 -
Actually ignore that advice!!! If I knew how to report you I would :spam:, seeing as you wrote this the other day I'm wondering ho you can be ill from a holiday you are supposedly going on in 2 weeks............

I booked a holiday early May with Thomsons and I am due to travel 3o june with a toddler and my friend. I have been in hospital and I am not allowed to travel (MEDICAL REASONS).it is a new medical condition diagnosed on 11th june.. However I intended to buy insurance a few days before travel but never got round to it. My friend booked the whole holiday on her alliance leicester visa card.My friend also has no insurance at present! Is there anything we can do now????0 -

I went to Gran canaria 10th may 2010 with insurance and also booked 30th June 2010 no insurance..I have invoices and was only asking for advice....what is your problem?????!0

OK, I can see where diddyangel is coming from here.
When did you return from your AI holiday?
When did you get the results that show food poisoning?
If you got insurance for your first holiday why didn't you get it for the 2nd too?
Is the food poisoning the reason why you can't fly?0 -
I returned on the 17th may and results from hospital confirmed food poisoning on june 5th. I got insurance for my first holiday on my debit card and my friend booked the next holiday on their debit card without insurance .
While having tests I have also been diagnosed with another medical condition and the doctor will confirm if I can travel next week. I am still very ill from the food poisoning and on lots of medication ..

***If anyone would like to see my travel documents for both holidays I will happily forward them!!!!!!!!!!!! ****0 -
I just wonder why you didn't post about the possibility of making a claim (not sure from your posts who you're thinking of claiming from) earlier i.e. as soon as you got the results - or at least at the same time as you asked for advice about maybe having to cancel your next holiday.
But Hey-Ho.
When did you become ill on the All-Inclusive holiday? You say your holidy was 'totally ruined' so I assume it must have been quite early on in the holiday.
Did you have to see a doctor?
If you did, did you read the T&Cs of your insurance policy BEFORE seeking medical help? Some policies say you need to contact the insurer first.
Did you incur any costs for medical help?
If so, do you have receipts?
Did you inform the rep that you were ill?
Are you looking for reimbursement of any expenses incurred - or is it COMPENSATION from Thomsons that you're after?0
