    INSIDER DEALING???????

I'm confused here. You're getting information from your friend with "30 years experience in oil"? I might be wrong but is that not insider dealing? You do know that you could be fined and go to jail for that?

Who said that they have specific knowledge about company information? General or even specific knowledge about a market or sector which is in the public domain is not insider dealing.

I suggest you look up exactly what does constitute insider dealing before you make even more of a fool of yourself making such accusations.

    Hi Chris,

I had a look at wikipedia for "insider dealing" and this is what it said:Insider trading is the trading of a corporation's stock or other securities (e.g. bonds or stock options) by individuals with potential access to non-public information about the company.

The nomad for the company says "neutral". This suggests to me the share price isn't cheap. But shatner makes the comment about his friend with "thirty years experience in oil". Then he says he expects the share price to be at £5 this year. I would read from that shatner knows something that the nomad doesn't?

Perhaps shatner could clear up this ambiguity by explaining what his friend has told him?
  • How much oil does XEL have in prospect, thats what it boils down to in the end. Their market cap is 422m now

I was reading rns of RRL during the weak, market cap of only 86m. Prospective 1bn barrels of oil and 'in place oil' is 335m barrels.

Thats just one territory, apparently the oil seeps out of the ground in Georgia but they have 3 others and 1 producing. Hows that sound compared to wonder stock XEL ?

I find the most accurate valuation comes by comparison not all these broker tips and the like and the share price can be nothing but speculation often

I like your thinking Sabretooth. If XCITE only produce the 1500 bopd that shatner expects the company can't be worth £422m. 1500 bopd is only about £75,000 a day in production. That's only turnover (not profit) of £27m a year.

Bentley WILL be commercial, expect flow rates of 1500 bopd or thereabouts.

First of all, I'm not in XEL.

Secondly, I can't understand why you would want to tell everyone to sell? If I'd done some research on the company and thought it was a bad place to invest, I wouldn't come on a board and start telling everyone to sell. Let people make their own decisions, why keep telling them to get rid? As if they're going to listen to some loon on a forum.

Happy to clear it up, basically speaking to someone who knows alot about North Sea oil and source rocks does not mean insider trading in the slightest, I do not have any contacts on the rig etc like some people on forums purport to but I do know people who have worked on rigs in the North Sea and have worked with heavy oil like we have in Bentley. Listening to these people who have invested most of their life savings into companies like XEL, EO. and NPE (North Sea oilies) makes me a lot more confident about my investments and someoene reading a broadsheet like the useless FT will not convince me otherwise. Look how wrong Danny Foreston and the Mail have got it in the past, they report what they want the market to hear and none of it is fact. I say that it will be 5 quid this year based on my understanding of how the oil will flow etc nothing to do with insider information.

There are some facts you need to realise here.

Bentley will be upgraded soon. Oil is in place (more than we first thought with some brokers estimating 200-300mmbls recoverable)

Bentley flow rates are due anyday now. If it's over 1500 bopd then it's excellent news and the SP will probably double.

BP, AMEC, and Schlumberger assisting them is an extremeley encouraging sign and there is no way that these alliance partners would invest into Bentley production if it was to throw away millions of pounds on a damp squib.

If you hold this share for the next couple of years into the FSP you will see some very healthy returns on your initial investment, so you still have time to get in!

You simply cannot compare the oil in Georgia and the oil in the North sea, for a kick off the recovery costs are vastly different. North sea oil is very expensive and the infrastructure is far more developed for delivery to market.

Plus this oil in Georgia has not even been found, they are not due to spud until mid or Q3 2011 and there are no details of farm-in or rig contracts so I'm afraid RRL SP is purely sentiment driven and based on CPR's and nothing else.

    Sorry Shatner,

I'm still not getting it. If you don't have inside information how can you predict the share price will more or less double this year? You already know "how the oil will flow"? What happens if they dig the well and there's not enough oil to run a scooter? Surely the price will collapse?

Well I'm sure the FT love you as well!

Surely oil exploration is high risk? So the fact that BP are an alliance partner is no guarantee that the Bentley/ XCITE isn't the biggest dampest squib of all time?

Are you sure you don't work for XCITE? You used "we" twice.
heavy oil like we have in Bentley.

    !
  • CPR I dont know what that means So XEL is at least spudding, its valued higher because its further along the exploration route and obviously north sea is alot more developed and safe compared to Georgia. Theres obviously the russian risk.
I did notice a big oil pipeline runs through the country, this helps I hope

On projections only, xel is set lower then rrl georgia assets or higher? I read GKP is doing flow tests recently too, even bigger 1.2bn cap. 3000 barrels a day I think they got

  • Darkpool you are missing the point! The oil is there, let alone not enough to run a scooter! If you read the links that blinko posted they are the official company RNS's and they have found oil. All this analsysing my prose and picking faults is tedious.

I am not going to bother writing anymore on this, the oil is there, it's down to the flowrates now and those will be the decided of the share price in the end.
