I shall also be enquiring about this when I go to see them tomorrow. If i get no joy from them i will be left no choice but to write to the companys main office.
its not only the fact that i cant get more hours thats getting to me now, its the fact that I'm being treated so differently to everybody else there and its only really just dawned on me.
I'm sure it will sort itself out0 -

This is what is so wrong with the benefits system, you have a disabled child which the state will help fair enough, but looking after children especially those with additional needs is not cheap.
So you then go onto have another child and you have had a good 6 months if she is heavily gone to up your hours, but why bother when the tax payer will fund your part time choice to the tune of £800 odd a month for 16 hours shocking!
I deeply apologise for getting my wife pregnant.

At the start of this thread she was your partner....
and now.....
Quote "I deeply apologise for getting my wife pregnant."
Then you QUOTE "said no she stays at home looking after HER disabled daughter ":(
BUT now....QUOTE "because OUR daughter is disabled.."
If anyone wants my opinion on this situation , i would hazzard a guess that the op and his partner/wife have been living together for sometime now yet are only just cottoning onto the idea that they would rake in it in tc's because of their/her disabled child.
I dont think they found out all the facts before they went "legit" though and it has now came back to bite them on the backsides!
Theres no reason why either one of you cant work full time.....we have a disabled child and both myself and my husband work.
It can be done..0 -

I noticed that too. Initially sounds as if he has met up with a single mum and they a forging a new life, then all of a sudden they are already married and the child is his.0 -

My thoughts exactly !
As i say , i also have a disabled child and i for one will admit that the disability element of tc's bump up the amounts due quite considerably . i think someone along the line has mentioned this to the op and he and his girlfriend/partner/wife have sat down and counted it up and decided that instead of fiddling the system by declaring HER as a single paerent , they would be better off to say that he has "just moved in" and as such begin a claim for tc!
I have to say that if i am correct in my assumptions then the op deserves what is happening to them at the min...a classic case of your lies coming back to haunt you lol . No doubt though if he doesnt manage to find the extra hour some where the relationship wont last long and he will "move out" again......
edit......please note that although i have a disabled child and receive disability elememt of tc for her BOTH MYSELF AND MY HUSBAND GO OUT TO WORK !0 -

You want a medal for that?
When some people "my child", they mean the child isn't biologically theirs. My mum calls her stepdad, dad. Biologically, he's not hers - he was the man who raised her from the age of four.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

For your information NO i dont deserve a medal for having a disabled child and workin....was simply pointing it out before other lovely people on the board jump in with opinions!
So do me a favour..please remember you are on a FORUM where people have opinions which may at times differ from yours so go get a life and stop posting useless info about your mum and her stepdad cos quite frankly my dear i just couldnt give a s h i t !0 -

I have to say that is exatly what it looks like, I know people have step kids and can refer to them as them/ours and confusion sets in but it's usually one or the other.
What makes it dead obvious is we have gone from moving in with my PARTNER, to which I read the op as a new family starting out, he had met a single mum with a disabled daughter and they were starting out, to MY WIFE, hardly just starting out on life and really just moving in with his wife for the first time really?
Don't know about you my husband never calls me is partner.
Looks to me claim as singles due to income then realised they can rake more in by going legit, it's called karma.0 -
Theres a huge range of disabilities and many people have multipul disabilities too, just because some parents can work donst mean that all can, it depends on the childs dis/ability.0
