...makes you wonder how much profit margin they were getting on it when it was going for £10...
Mostly it's the maker who pays for these offers, not the supermarket. They do it so people who do not normally buy their brand of product will try it because it is cheap, and hopefully continue to buy it.
Personally, I think it's the people who buy the products that pay for the offers. They put the price up and make extra profit, which then fund a reduction at a later date. So the people who were buying the product before it was reduced have paid extra to fund the reduction.0 -

Why is this a problem for anyone? OP use it through self scan - just bypass the people who have nothing better to do than be petty.
You willbe able to get the dishwasher tablets and something costing around £1 for nothing which is very moneysaving :money:!!0 -

If you had read the thread, or had a calculator, you would know that using the voucher would bring the price down to minus £1. The self service till will not let you buy something for minus £1.
Also, the vouchers state that they can not be used with any other offer, the item is already on offer at around 66% off, so anyone saying it can't be used is not being petty, they are doing their job.0 -
Mouschka - If a main bank till said it was null and void then the self serve tills would say the same. At no point did the OP say it was the cashier who had refused it, they tried to scan it but the system wouldn't allow them to use it.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

The self scan tills WILL allow a minus figure, I did it with the tomatoes glitch, I miscounted and thought I had 3p to pay when infact I was 5p under, it just gave me my receiptAll you need to do is to buy something for around £1 to maximise the saving, thats IF the coupon will scan

But that's the point of the whole thread, the voucher wouldn't scan.
You might get away with a minus figure when there is a "glitch", but in this case there wasn't, the system was working as it should.0 -
