Decluttering - always seems to get worse before it gets better!

I am offically on holiday for 11 days:j:j:jSadly, it seems it's unpaid:(:(:( Posh Lady Boss paid me for this week and said "have a lovely break " and off she tottered.

The good news is I don'y have to go to work for ages- I'll work out what to do next week about no income.

Happy Easter to anyone who reads.

  • Should you not be entitled to some sort of paid holiday?

My housemates mum came over the other day and did some weeding for us :) So I've planted a few sunflower seeds as well as a few basil seeds and pansies in little pots and hanging baskets. Fingers crossed they work!

Hope you have a lovey easter at your brothers!

I read, and I sympathize with you about not getting paid for your time off. The mob I work for expect me to work as normal on Good Friday, but head office is more or less closed down until Tuesday, and then next week because of the Royal wedding we have a repeat performance. Usually, I will get calls/ messages every day from the office, but I can guarantee that tomorrow and Monday it will be all quiet, while they enjoy a paid long weekend, and if I happen to need answers to a question/ support of any kind then tough luck! If I don't do the hours I will not get paid, so I have no choice but to go. As if it's not bad enough getting barely minimum wage!

Anyhoo, I am heading out early tomorrow, aiming to be done by noon so I can enjoy the nice weather forecast for the weekend. Might even put the gazebo up for the summer, and have a bbq for the family (if I can get organized enough!)
Have a good weekend and let's hope the sun keeps shining!

Had a lovely week off but it went far too quickly. Spent Easter at my brothers and then had my sister here for the weekend, so have had some quality time.
Saturday night I started with the dreaded cold that seems to be doing the rounds - great just before going back to work. My brother had it Easter and now it's my turn. I can't ever remember having a cough like this:eek:and now am covered in the beginning of cold sores:eek:but do feel a bit better than I did.
Think this is the Universe telling me I needed to have a break and address the job issue.

The good news is Boss lady is away this week so at least I can take my time and it's a more gentle return to work.

Financial - A real mess. With not getting paid for my holiday week am now totally broke and going to be playing catch up for weeks. It's difficult at the best of times without trying to play catch up.
I read on another thread that to get DF you have to start at where you are TODAY with getting expenditure below income. I understand that and agree with it but haven't a clue how to impliment it.
I have no buffer zone, savings and am behind on my catalouge, phone bill and council tax at present. OH has picked up all the grocery shop ( I am supposed to pay some), My question is when you are living so hand to mouth how do you start to define where TODAY is and how to rectify it?:(

    Answers on a postcard please.

Up date to follow on my wardrobe and make over.

  • Hello Robsmum, sorry I never got back to you about gardening help... I did plant some seeds and I now have some sunflower seedlings I need to replant and a strawberry plant which has some tiny green berries on it!

Have you done a statement of affairs recently? That might help you to work out what your current situation is x

I've decided to amend my plans and make them more achievable, I still have the same areas with a few additions. I intend to do this from June to end November.
    Financial
    Health and Well being
    Knowledge, learning
    Creative
    House /garden
    Job
    Christmas

Going to create myself a timetable type of thing to help keep me focussed. The rough idea is to do 30 squares for each month and each area with monthly target in square 30 and then do a task a week to reach target. If that makes sense.

Other news - my housing association are going to replace my kitchen and renew my storage heaters some time in this financial year:jhoping now it's soon.

    Phsycobabble:
I planted my sun flowers out the other day and they are about 12" tall! Glad you have started to grow some bits it's so rewarding. Give me a shout ifyou need any help.

Have sort of been productive; have designed my timetable chart, done an inventory of what's missing from store cupboard/freezer so can start to rebuild them, cleaned kitchen, planted out sweetpeasand made a trellis for them to scramble up.

Now for some more 15 minute bursts - menu plan, put ironing away and erm.......

    Hi robsmum,:)
Glad you are feeling more positive, amd getting sorted. I'm the same, everything seems too much sometimes and you don't feel you have control but
somehow we wade through and give ourselves a good talking too and get through it.
I think you have done great and might just copy your idea with the squares. I have been reading the Old Style and have got loads of ideas from there and think I might just start my own diary to keep me focused, its all in my head but to see it written down might make me practise what I preach IYKWM.:rotfl:
Brilliant news on the kitchen, will you be able to choose what you like? I would love a new kitchen, mine is dropping in bits. We were supposed to have a new one when we moved in this house 10 year ago, but had spend the money on re doing what diy jobs pevious owner had bodged up. Never mind will get one some day. Have a great weekend. Savvy:)
