How do you mean you "only use wifi"? Could you explain? What equipment do you have?
I live where I work and they supply free internet through wifi. So we have no phone line, no router etc.
    Bank charges reclaimed: HSBC £1990

    2007 Competition Challenge: Target £150
So far...£373.48 (MS Office 2007 Professional Edition) and a rizla tin

Ah I see. Well there must be a router somewhere, so if you can get permission from whoever deals with your internet to let npower connect their device to it then it'll probably be fine.

I have applied so am keeping my fingers crossed. My present fridge is now 26 years old and has been on its last legs for the last five or six!!! :eek:No money to buy a new one so this would be a godsend.
As for leaving my PC on for 24/7.......I usally close it down completely after I use it.

Another "Internet Explorer Oonnlllyyy" website is it? Seriously, when are all the big companies going to learn some web standards?!?

My fridge is usually kept in the Kitchen while my WiFi Router is based upstairs. Will the fridge run over WiFi? Really don't want a cable running from the kitchen all the way upstairs! or any holes drilling! :rotfl:

You don't need to leave your computer on 24/7. You just need to make sure your router is on and connected 24/7 (the thing connected to the phone line that has lots of flashing lights).

I completed it in Google Chrome absolutely fine.

Previous comments suggest that you don't need a wire going all the way from router to fridge. It sounds like the fridge has a wireless device built in, and this transmits wirelessly to another device which is plugged into the back of your router (so technically it's not over your own wifi, but as good as).

It asks the question if you have a cap on your broadband usage or something, so a dongle wouldn't be a possibility, prepay or suchlike.

I used firefox to fill out the form with no probs, bar the obvious reloading issues where patience helps even if you have a speedy connection :)

I also remember reading somewhere on it that basically they want a wide variety of different households to trail this so that they get a wide range of results from all the different types of consumers - i.e ticking child tax credits would suggest applicant has young children.... ticking disabilty living allowance suggests applicant with disabilties..... housing benefits... low income households..... type of building.... i live in a bungalow so hoping for brownie points there lol

hope im making sense.... been on mse for 5hours tonight:eek: no sense no feeling!

you could always invest in broadband, would be a whole lot cheaper to get it for the trail period of having the appliance, then actually going out and buying a fridge like this lmao! although perhaps not a good idea with only 900 going to the many hoards of households who have applied :P
