The easiest way to check your conumption is to take daily meter readings for a week, then try switching stuff you arn't using off and measure again.
£45 is a hell of a lot for a monitor, they are typically up to 20% inaccurate and don't replace your meter.
What takes most power in your house most would be:

    Electric heaters/aircon
    Electric cooker
    Immersion heater
    Washing machine
    Tumble Drier
    Dishwasher
    Electric Kettle
    Cannabis Farm in the loft:D
    Tellys especially plasmas

You can buy an Owl monitor for £30, some libraries have a loan service.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

 £45? I thought they were free.

    From the E.ON website...

They're free if you pay by either monthly direct debit or prepayment and manage your account online
  • i cant find where to order a free one from. Can anyone please give me the link?
    thanks in advance
Things will get better day by day.
  • Hi,

I was going to post the link to order the free e.on energy monitor but the site wont allow me to post links as I am a new user!

if you search google for 'e.on energy fit' you'll probably find it.

    Matt
  • To add to the discussion about the lightening bolts displayed in the top left of the display:

It does relate to which of the 3 sockets you have the clip plugged into on the transmitting unit.
If you hold the transmitter unit with the e.on logo facing you and the 3 sockets at the bottom then plugging the clip in will display lightening bolts as follows:
    • Left: 1 & 2
    • Centre: 1
    • Right: 1 & 3

Got mine this week. The instructions explain how to enter both your primary and secondary electricity price but the unit itself doesn't work as described and will only allow one price to be entered.

A real puzzle. Anyone cracked this one?

Get a recent bill add up your primary and secondary units and use this figure to divide the total bill by. This will give you the average unit cost. Use this for your monitor.
