hi foxy have a look at the terms and conditions:

"No Lose refund must be wagered once at minimum odds of 1/5 (1.2) before withdrawal can be made."

i think they added that yesterday or today but I was told i definately can't just take out the money straight away. I don't know much about betting and would not want to risk it again on another bet. The other point is they can change their terms or cancel the promotion whenever they want which seems unfair, but also highly risky for me. I like to know where I stand

Just noticed that. I mistakenly read it as the £20 bet had to be made at a minimum odds of 1/5.

I've put my £20 on Argentina to win now (which was looking OK until the last minute of the first half).

Just a word of advice to anyone doing this, or any other, offer.

Before you pile in to the offer, don't just READ the terms and conditions, TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF THEM. We on GIOL find this invaluable if there is a dispute!

    How to take a screenshot.

Centre the info you want on your screen, or display as much of it as you can.
    Press shift and print screen.
Click the button in the lower lhs of your screen (the 'start' button, in some versions of windows)
    Programs>Accessories>Paint
Press control and v - you should now have the screenshot pasted into Paint
Press file and save as whatever filename you want.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

This deal has finished, it's done. No more no lose bets.

888 are being a bit sneaky now by replacing this offer with a new (not as good) offer.

The new offer is the same freebet which all bookmarkers do. You deposit and bet, then you get a free bet which you have to bet before you can withdraw.

Don't make the mistake of thinking the new offer is the same as the last one.

Sneaky? They're protecting their business from a load of bonus abusers! some people eh!

Who's abusing the bonus? Are you saying we have abused the offer by taking part?

Yes it is a bit sneaky when they are refering to it as a 'no lose bet' still. This has mislead a few people into thinking the offer hasn't changed at all.

You know exactly what I mean...Very few on here who are signing up are the type of customer that 888Sport (or any other bookie) want. To them those signing up are abusing their offer to attract new customers..Don't get so caught up in the use of a word and then completely ignore the comment that it appeared it. 888Sport have done this to protect their interests...nothing wrong with that!

And if you think that this is sneaky then you're not familiar with the T&Cs of bookmakers and neither is Martin Lewis...It's extremely irresponsible of him to promote an offer like this where 888Sport could easily change the T&Cs at any time and people could end up losing money.

So does this definitely mean that people who did it yesterday before the T&C change will not be able to withdraw the losing money?

What a load of rubbish. By taking part in the previous promotion with the intention of withdrawing the refund is in no way abusing the offer.

888 are not stupid, they know most people won't carry on betting, BUT they also know that a percentage of sign ups will either bet their winnings or refund, or carry on betting anyway. People that do that are paying for the rest of our freebets. Plus 888 will have had a large injection of contacts into their marketing campaign which is reasonably valuable.

It is sneaky to do what they have done which is to attract huge attention with a great offer, then completely change the offer by only amending the T&C's and keeping the offer name the same 'no lose bet'. This is very misleading because it is absolutely possible to lose now, unlike before.

Personally I am familiar with how bookmakers promotions work having been matched betting, and even though it is not a surprise to me having seen what some bookmakers are capable of, I'm sure many in this thread are not familiar with the pitfalls of bookmaker promotions.

We're all adults here, no one is being forced to take part of any deal found on MSE. I don't agree that Martin Lewis is being irresponsible by allowing this thread to remain. You obviously have not seen the GIOL board which has been running for years.
