I totally agree with you there, a few wins and that has you hooked, then you'll lose more times than you win, but you'll keep telling yourself that, the big one is coming and you'll get all your money back then. Of course that rarely happens.

We dont even play the lottery, we put a few quid a week in a savings account, over the year it adds up, granted 7 million will never apear in our bank over night but the chances of that happening anyway are ridiculously slim, my mum has playd the lottery since day one, has wasted a small fortune on it at a couple of quid a week, and i think she has won 2 x £10, at least this way we have a couple of hundred pounds to spend on what we like atthe end of the year.

Best way to do it i think. Especially as i have grown up surrounded by alchoholics, drug addicts and gamblers and i have seen 1st hand how it started harmlessly then the addiction took over and has now and forever ruined their, and their familes lives.

Trust me, im a smoker (quitting on sunday), have been since I was 13, im 28 now and i wish i had never ever started. I wonder what life i would have, having all that extra cash each week. Never mond the health benefits. And i started smoking saving i would only do it once.

To me, online gambling is a very serious thing, its very secretive, its not like you have to walk down to the bookies and place your bets, you can do it far to easily.

Exactly. So why is it featured on MSE? We still haven't had an answer on this.

I'd be very cautious given the lack of T&Cs

I lost my bet on 888 and now have 20 pounds to bet... does anyone have any good tips for this weekend?

Just want to get my money back really

    thanks!!!
  • I've had my refund declined, and the excuse they give is that i've had other people sign up using my ip address and computer - despite the fact that I don't use wireless and nobody else has used my computer at all other than myself. I don't see how this was possible as I'm the only user of this pc and internet connection, but they wouldnt listen. So annoyed right now! Has anyone else had any problems like this?

Tiger Woods to get a birdie over the weekend? :p:rotfl::rotfl:
  • Placed my £20 bet, didn't win anything then got an email back from 888 sport saying it had credited my account back.

Unfortunately, as I had paid by credit card, my card company (Nationwide) charged a £3 cash advance fee on my £20 purchase, which is incurring interest until my card is paid automatically by direct debit. Nationwide don't accept payment over the phone so I am stuck paying interest on this until the direct debit goes out (it's 19p at present.)

So my free bet has cost me £3.19 and counting! Not so free after all.
Apparently it is standard for credit cards to charge a cash advance fee on betting transactions and currency purchases as well as cash advances.

If I'd known this before I would have given it a miss - would have been nice to have had a warning!
