Just checked the FAQ's, you can't void a bet after its placed.
Didn't notice this offer had changed before i put it on!
Hopefully Robinho will score tonigh and save me any hassle of re-betting the money.0 -

You can withdraw your deposit after a losing bet has been refunded.

A crystal clear proposal - you open an account, place your first sports bet up to £20, and if you lose we will refund your stake and you can withdraw your money. We are giving you the chance to win real money for absolutely nothing."
Anyone got any experience of Betclic?0 -
Did I say that? No..GIOL Yes..newsletter read by millions..No.
Yes it does. A newsletter to millions of people explaining how to take advantage of a bookmakers offer is going to have a serious impact on the numbers taking up the offer and the strong possibility of it being pulled.
And how exactly have 888Sport 'screwed' MSE'ers??? They're a legit company providing a recreational activity to those that want to play. 888Sport aren't forcing anyone to gamble! Why should they be screwed??? They're not a bank who have charged unfair amounts for going overdrawn. They're not a train company who increase fares well above inflation year after year.
You are completely missing the point. Advertising an offer on this scale is always going to end up with the offer being pulled leaving people unsure as their situation on the refund...Hey, look what happened!
Oh yeah, and once again, I didn't say that it shouldn't appear on MSE..
You are still not getting this are you....
btw, I didn't state that I didn't do the promotion...and I'm not stating that I did either.....However, I didn't do it because I've already got an 888Sport account. But, once again, you're jumping to conclusions...
maybe, but let me quote now:
Irresponsible.
So you did the promotion, but you're against it. You matched bet, but you don't want this on MSE. By the way, by saying it is irresponsible of Martin to allow this here is in other words saying in your opinion it should be removed.
I don't understand your logic of this being irresponsible. We're all adults, not kids who need to have this sort of thing censored. As said in one of my early posts in the thread, there should have been some points in the OP about checking the terms. IMO that would suffice, MSE members can make their own minds up about the offer. Afterall, there is an entire category of this forum dedicated to matched betting.
I never said 888 have been screwed, I don't think they have been scewed at all. In fact you are the one that seems to feel that you have abused 888 (yet went ahead with it anyway), then you campaign here to stop people 'screwing' them.
I would have said if you don't like an offer found on MSE you don't have to take it, but you don't like it and took it anyway which is why I think this is a wind up so won't be wasting anymore time.0 -
I emailed CS after two days and asked to credit the refund. They credited it the same day, which I have withdrawn no problems, and no ID needed.0

Well I've finally put my £20 on a Robinho hatrick at 50-1 !0

withdrawn and back into your bank?
don't forget there are no cashouts at the weekend.Am sure there will be a lot of people who have requested the cashout since England played and will not get it.
If you registered from Thursday and lost you will need to wager.0 -

OMG, did you actually read what I wrote???
Did I do this promotion...NO!
I do matched betting. Do I want this on the newsletter? No, because, from over 3 years of EXPERIENCE, mass advertising of profitable offers is asking for trouble! Promoting this deal to 4m people is a damn site more dangerous than it appearing on GIOL. GIOL in itself is too big and was responsible to BlueQS and Tipico fiascos but not a lot can be done to stop offers appearing on there...that's why I NEVER dive into a new book.I don't understand your logic of this being irresponsible. We're all adults, not kids who need to have this sort of thing censored. As said in one of my early posts in the thread, there should have been some points in the OP about checking the terms. Have you read the thread??? People jumping into this offer betting on things that they clearly don't understand. If an offer appear on MSE I'd read the T&C because I know what to look out for...Your average MSE'er hasn't got over 3 years of experience of the typical T&Cs you'd expect.
Yes, we're all adults, but what do you think the opinion of gamblers anonymous and gamcare would be?? Do you think they'd agree with me? Because I certainly do!I never said 888 have been screwed, I don't think they have been scewed at all. In fact you are the one that seems to feel that you have abused 888 (yet went ahead with it anyway), then you campaign here to stop people 'screwing' them.
I told you that I didn't do this promotion....
You quoted Martin Lewis sayingMoneySavingExpert.com is completely free, you're never charged. It has no advertising. It is all about stopping companies screwing us and working out how to legally screw them back.
So according to this the reason the offer appeared on MSE it's so that we can legally screw them. Therefore by quoting this then you are saying that it's ok to screw 888Sport...FACT.I would have said if you don't like an offer found on MSE you don't have to take it, but you don't like it and took it anyway which is why I think this is a wind up so won't be wasting anymore time.
I'm going to have to re-quote myself here aren't I because you just didn't seem to get it....btw, I didn't state that I didn't do the promotion...and I'm not stating that I did either.....However, I didn't do it because I've already got an 888Sport account. But, once again, you're jumping to conclusions...
You seem to be getting very mixed up on this. I do matched betting because it's free money. I have no issues with other doing matched betting. The guide on the GIOL board brilliant as is the support from other MSE'ers. However, this offer has nothing to do with matched betting. I have 2 issues with it appearing on MSE. Both of which martin actually highlighted (surely because they were concerns of his).
1. Martin stated the risk of the offer being pulled at any time.
2. He mentioned the risks of gambling.
He also mentioned thatwe wrestled long and hard about it in MoneySaving Towers
so, it sounds like some at MoneySaving Towers also weren't sure that this should appear...and you still think this is a wind up! :wall:0 -
I don't understand your logic of this being irresponsible. We're all adults, not kids who need to have this sort of thing censored.
I do understand and agree totally.
It's very easy to get hooked on online gambling and therebye get into a LOT of financial trouble which would be slightly against the ethos of MSE. Anything which might have the potential to lead to this outcome should not be highlighted on this site in my opinion, but that's all it is, an opinion.0 -
I signed up to the original offer through the link from this site. Then yesterday I actualy signed on for two of my friends saying they could get a risk free bet. Then I found out they have changed the T&C's
Rubbish!!
SO
If they lose what is the best attempt at getting there money back?
are there any upcoming games or anything i can bet on that would have the most chance of getting their money back?
thanks!!!0 -

See this is when it becoming gambling and like I've said earlier, Martin should NEVER have put this offer up.
Anyway, in the World Cup, Brazil, Spain etc SHOULD win their games against weaker opponents, but we've seen it doesn't work like that always.
There's a £5 free bet available which I mentioned earlier in this thread (here's the link to it) but most of the offers out there need you to deposit money, which the majority on here have no interest in.0
