It is a straight cashback offer. Not a free bet.
You get your full stake back and would win 24 pound and then be able to cash out....still a good offer
Not now it isn't ... The person I was replying to joined for friends without reading the T&C after they had changed and is trying to make the best of the free bet that they now have.
If they joined after the guaranteed refund ended then they have a free bet which is not withdrawable and when you bet with it the stake is not returned - so a short odds bet will not get much of their £20 back.0 -
Sorry.. i think this was a con... If they HONESTLY did not one to trick people they should have made sure everyone signingup to the £20 offer knew about the change in t's and c's
People who say you should have read the t's & c's dont really have a fair point.
Can I ask you this.. do you read all the T's and c's on every single sign up... every single new insurance you take out... do you read them all???... I am surprised you still have time to come on here to post!!
888 knew what they where doing... and are loving all the gamblers popping onto their site thinking they are getting free bets when they are not.
I didnt reliase you didnt get your stake back on the second bet (when you have lost)
I am not surprised though.. companies have used subtle caviats to take money off me time and time again over the years.
thats capatalism for you
good luck with your bets everyone!0 -

This is not true!!!!!!
The only change to the terms and conditions were that if you got a refund you have to wager it once at minimum odds off 1-5 before you can cash out. If this second bet loses then your money is gone.
It is NOT a free bet. All stakes are returned.
And as I said, if you have opened 3 accounts from the first PC only one will be eligible.0 -

I used paypal - does that make a difference?
I signed up on thursday, it was after they changed the conditions. I bet on the south korea match that was just about to start. The next day my refund was in my 888sport balance so I tried to withdraw it (18th). On the 21st the money was in my paypal account so is now between paypal and my bank. Perhaps i was misleading when I said it was in my bank, but paypal have it so it's mine.
I'm not recommending everyone else try it, but for me it worked. I was supposed to wager it but I didn't.52% tight0 -
Did this..bet £20 extravagantly on a accumulator bet for £8k but I lost.. Bet was refunded after 1 day into my account. I then bet Chile to beat the Swiss & won £43.0

As some will know BETFAIR allows to back and lay bets.
England are currently 13.0 on Betfair to win the world cup (12-1).
Bet on them before the match tomorrow and, following what should be a win, the price will drop considerably as they are backed again and you can lay your bet off leaving a tidy profit for an England win, or another lay if you don't fancy that!!!
Use this code for free £25 bet when you've put £25 in!!!
CODE - LDVQKT2K4
Easy money I would think!!!!
If you wanted to guarantee even more then lay off win tomorrow night and draw is then the only bad result!!!0 -

Was it you who said that? i think the quoting may have gone wrong somewhere ... anyway ... it is a fair point, because the front page for the offer tells you you can't lose. It pretends that you get your money back. They don't tell you that they changed their terms and conditions.alexchegwin wrote: »888 knew what they where doing... and are loving all the gamblers popping onto their site thinking they are getting free bets when they are not.
To be fair to 888 I don't think they planned to do this to people. They will have expected to make some losses but it's probably worth it to draw new custom in. Without a mass email by MSE how many non-gamblers are going to sign up? They would expect some people to just be after a freebie or the no-lose aspect, but they won't have expected an enormous number of MSE people after a bargain.
Not only will they have to payout more than they expected in winning bets, they will have acquired a large number of customers who do not intend ever spending another penny with this company. Most of the people who saw the email will not be recreational betters.
I think they probably changed the terms as a reaction to the number of customers that MSE sent their way, by giving the money back as bonus money rather than cash, as that would scare away anyone who doesn't understand betting or didn't want to continue betting as a paying customer.
I can see why they did it, but I still feel they should have made it clear that their conditions had changed and that you can in fact lose your money. It wouldn't have stopped anyone who gambles from signing up, because bonus money is worth something to them.52% tight0
