hi jwil and everyone - well done on your e-bay and amazon sales. It is very frustrating about MOT. Have a good time in Bath - never been there but is on my list of places I want to visit

Thanks DDFW, Bath is a nice city, well worth a visit!

Another £11.18 for me yesterday on ebay! It would have been £4 more, but when I took the item out to post it, I discovered that it was broken  So I had to give a refund to the buyer.

I'm neglecting my diary at the moment, I'll have to get a bit more involved.

I've just redeemed a £10 amazon voucher from a survey site, so very pleased with that!

I've been suffering with toothache for the last few days, it's been keeping me up at night so I haven't been feeling brilliant. I need to go to the dentist, but I'm so worried about the bill. I can't afford to. I'm going to have to bite the bullet though, I can't go on like this. I've already put it off for months (I've got a broken tooth) so I've probably made it worse for myself.

    Hope everyone else is well!

    Hi jwil :)

You're so busy supporting and motivating everyone else, you're not giving yourself enough tlc and credit. So I think its about time I returned the favour! Well done on yet more sales, those totals are really coming down now :T You should be really proud of yourself - your debts have come down by nearly £800 since October! That's fantastic, especially when you've had some expenses to pay out as well.

I can totally understand why you don't want to have to pay out a load of money for the pleasure of going to the dentist!! Its really galling when you have to spend hard earned savings on something like that (its the same with car tax etc or household repairs I always think), but you'll feel much better once you get it done. You do have my sympathies though.

    Aww thanks copperjar :o

It is annoying when you have those unexpected spends, the problem is, I don't have any savings to raid! So I'll have to go when I've got some cash in my account and just hope that I don't need it!

    Hiya jwil,

I totally sympathise about the toothache, when I was made redundant dentist was one of the things i had to give up :o:o:eek::eek::eek: I just could not afford it. Toothache is so uncomfortable though - hope the pain eases up for you and that its not too expensive to fix.

I second what others have said - you are doing brilliantly raising funds on ebay, amazon etc. Just for the money to be made I would love to have more things to de-clutter :) Apart from about 2 things the 30 items I have listed on e-bay is everything I can part with.

Oh, thanks for the bp reminder the other day ;) you posted about it and as I had been without my comp for a number of days I had forgotton to play :rotfl:

Aww, jwil, I've been neglecting to pop in here as well. A toothache is just so horrible, hope you get it sorted out. :(

I've been a totally lazy-a**e and done nothing of any note since last week. I should hang my head in shame. :o

On a plus note, I am determined to FINALLY get a couple of clothes bundles up on ebay. I'll report back tomorrow evening and expect to be firmly admonished if I haven't done it. :D

Good luck at the dentist, jwil.

Thanks DDFW, I wish I didn't have so much to declutter :rotfl: Though it's coming in handy and one day I will have a clutter free house and be debt free!

I've not done too much recently either, I'm going to take it a bit more easy now until after Christmas. I have a load on ebay at the moment which I relisted at the weekend, but I'm not expecting great things from it, then when they go out on Sunday, I shall not have anything else on until I can list it so it ends on or after Christmas day. I've heard that sales are good on Christmas day so I might try it!

Good luck with the listing today!

I still haven't done anything about the dentist. :o

I'm working from home today and it was so nice this morning not having to get up and rush about so I could get a few bits listed on ebay! I'm going to get some stuff added to Turbolister while I am off over Christmas to list whenever I am ready.

I've redeemed £20 waterstones voucher from a survey site this morning. It's taken me 8 years to get it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I went back through my history and it appears I joined the site in 2002 and haven't redeemed before. Although there is a gap of about 4 years between 2004 and 2008 when I didn't do any surveys, so I suppose technically it's only taken me 4 years :D I'll carry on with it though as when I do get the surveys from this one, they literally only take seconds so it's not particularly time consuming.

Right, now it's confession time :o

I've taken out a consolidation loan :o:o. Now I thought about this long and hard because last time I consolidated, I doubled my debt.

The last few months for me have been a real struggle, and the only way I have been meeting my payments is with the ebay and amazon sales. Whilst I still have a lot to clear, this isn't going to go on forever, and I can't rely on the income.

I saw the offer through one of my existing accounts and thought I would apply, not thinking for a second that I would get accepted, but I did. I took care to apply for only the amount that would consolidate things that I could not spend again - namely my expensive CC and an existing loan. There is also a little extra to get up to date with a few things I am behind on. The loan is not particularly cheap at 15.9%, but the CC and loan I am consolidating are 34.9% and 21% respectively. The interest is front loaded and I can make overpayments without penalty.

Even though I was accepted, I was still uncertain whether I would go through with it, or had done the right thing, so I plugged the figures into the snowball calculator. When I did a comparison with the new situation if I took the loan, and carrying on as I am now, taking out the loan knocked 2 years off my DFD. :j Even more shocking, it would save me £18,029 in interest payments:eek::eek:. So that was the deciding factor for me.

I've got the cheque now, and hopefully it will clear tomorrow. I shall then update my signature with the loan (including all interest added) and the existing cc and loan paid off. I'll have a new signature for a new year, and whilst it will be more, it will be reducing by over £300 a month. This compares to paying out more than that for the loan and CC each month, yet only paying off a total of around £30 and £2 respectively - the rest being interest added.

The aim for next year then will be to clear the remaining credit cards, and then have just the loan left which I shall then make overpayments on.

I shan't have a lot more spare each month, but I think it will make a big difference to me as I will have enough to make the mins, plus some more.

It won't stop my keen ness to get rid of it all though!
