My car MOT bill came in at £273 , DH paid £130 for a service too, bless him. I suppose it could have been worse!

I got the bus again today as I'm nervous about driving in the ice. My road is on a slope so I didn't want to risk it.

Bit miffed at the moment, I posted a number of items to someone in Australia on 17th November. They sent me a message yesterday to say they haven't received them. They came to £54 before postage! I sent them in two parcels to ensure both were below the RM limit, but neither has arrived. From when I've sent things to Australia before, they've always taken about 2 weeks to arrive, so i'm hoping that it's just delayed due to Christmas. I sent another parcel to Australia the same day and that buyer hasn't left feedback yet, although she said she would when it arrived, so I asked the buyer to wait another week and/or check the local post office.

I really hope it turns up as I can't afford to lose that amount of money! I've not got the funds in my paypal account either as they were used to pay my ebay fees. I'll have to leave the money in from any sales I make now, and probably add some in case I need to refund next week.

I've got proof of posting so I can claim from RM if need be, but it's a faff and I really don't want the hassle.

Don't blame you, I hate driving in the ice and snow.

What postal service exactly did you use - is there no way of tracking the items you sent? How long were the parcels supposed to take to arrive? That IS very annoying and it's a lot of money. I hope they turn up OK.

Just RM airmail. That is why I sent it in two parcels so each was less than £41 - which is what they cover up to. I have proof of posting, so can claim for missing items.

According to RM and the Australian postal website the items should have arrived on 26th Nov, but the Australian postal website says this excludes them being cleared by customs so I guess adding a couple of days to that would have been early this week they were due.

Everything else I've sent to Australia has taken around two weeks, so I'm fairly certain they are just delayed - it is close to Christmas after all! I'm just worried the buyer will push for a refund sooner or open a dispute and I'll have to refund. Fingers crossed it will all be ok though.

We're off to Bath tomorrow to see the Christmas markets (and family too). Looking forward to that.

Anyone up to anything nice this weekend?

I kind of regretted being so wussy about driving this morning, the bus this afternoon was such a palaver. It took nearly 2 hours to get home! Even the bus driver when I got off said 'finally you've got there'. Oh well, I had a good bit of time to read. It's still rather annoying though as I'd left work a bit earlier as DH was home. They wonder why people don't use public transport!

    Hey Jwil,

How was the Bath [STRIKE]Sheds[/STRIKE] Christmas Market? Working in Bath I am fortunate to go in my lunch hour, which is a bonus because on the weekends they bus in the Welsh by the million. Seriously! I wonder if Wales is empty this weekend!

I find the experience lovely and Christmassy, but the wares are on the pricey side, as well as a bit pointless. Just wondered what you thought.

This year we're having a frugel Christmas, and giving people bottles of wine that we have discovered and enjoyed this year. Quite enjoying not being swayed by store offers and advertising this year, it is refreshing.

Well done for the money you raised in November. An achievement in itself.

Don't forget, eBay on Boxing Day! People start listing unwanted presents fast. You can effectively 'swap' bad presents for good ones.

Hi ebayqueen, I agree the markets are pricey, but it is nice and Christmassy so I like going. We've been each year for a few years now, and I've only ever bought 1 item. I like browsing though, and it's an excuse to meet up with some family so that's not a problem.

    Your frugal Christmas sounds good!

I shall definitely be ebaying over Christmas! Sales do well over that time. I might have a break though after this week to avoid all those people with unrealistic expectations as to when things will arrive. I'll list again for things to end after Christmas day.

Thanks Isy, the German market sounds great! We did have a good time, we were there early so it wasn't too busy. I didn't buy anything though!

Some more sales to report :j £36.81 on ebay, and £6.03 on amazon to add to my totals.

I've got some more going out tonight but only 1 item selling at the moment. I shall relist everything I've got tonight, and then that will be me until about 20th, when I shall relist again too late for people to want things for Christmas, but early enough for them to spend their Christmas money! :D
