Good Morning Jwill, I am going to sort out my ebay account tonight after my Spanish lesson on Skype. You inspired me with your post again, I want to list a dress, which I bought for a friends wedding for few years back. Probably it is not the best day to list as everyone seems to be doing it at the weekend but I gues I make sure it ends on Sunday ... Don't know ebay rules so will check tonight. If my item doesnt sell, do I need to pay ebay for listing anyway? I don't want to sell this dress from 0.99 p , everybody is complaining about decent stuff is being sold very cheaply.. It must be some way around it...Any ideas???
Apart from that have a grand day ...Don't forget smiling:):)

Hi WTBF - if you want the dress to finish on a Sunday, why not list it tomorrow for 10 days. It will be on there for two full weekends then which adds to the visibility. It sounds like the weather is going to be pretty good this weekend so people may not be sat in on ebay buying stuff.
If you don't want to pay a listing fee, you either have to wait for a free listing weekend, or start at 99p and risk it sells for that. I'm never bothered about paying for the first listing, it's not a bad deal for a worldwide audience. Though if I had anything really high value, I'd probably wait for a free listing.
If you don't want it to go for a silly price, you need to list it at a price you will be happy receiving. I always assume that my listings will sell for the minimum bid, and anything above that is a bonus. If it doesn't sell the first time you can always list it at a lower price in future, but will lose that initial listing fee.
The easiest way to see whether something is worth it is to have a look at completed listings for your item. Search for the item, then down the left hand side tick the box which says show completed listings. You'll be able to get an idea of what it will sell for.
I don't tend to sell clothes, but I would imagine to ensure you get the best price - have good photos, make sure you are clear about the brand name, have actual measurements as well as the size of the dress so people can check it will fit them, highlight any faults/damage/marks.
Good luck!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Another book sold, and a hefty lottery win to add so that's £13 towards my total.
I'm quite impressed with how I've done this month, even though I'm nowhere near my £1000 target, but need to try again for next month. We also have our holiday so I will need money for that, and my MOT and car insurance are both due in December, so I need to get ahead for that too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Another book sold, woo hoo! £4.34 to add.
Superdrug have their stamps offer back on now, so I shall have to try and get there to stock up. It all helps!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi all
Can't even remember if i stopped by yesterday- got in soo late yesterday and today due to the trains being delayed  is it a wonder i'm shattered :rotfl:
Jwil your sales are going fabby :j:j:j i am so very pleased for you *ddfw sneakily tries to dust self in jwils lucky selling dust*
I've just had to change my security details on e-b*y - it was probably nothing to worry about but just signed into it on the train and whilst checking things i became aware of someone behind me so i glanced round and nearly jumped out of my skin! As the person in the seat behind me had leant so far forward their head was nearly next to mine and they were staring at my phone :eek::eek: i have probably completely over-reacted with changing my passwords but i think i should be cautious. And i am usually cautious with my details but there was no-one in the seat when i started signing in so they must have sat down very quietly - oh well. I am sure it was nothing untoward but am just being careful
I'll sell the dress jwil - many thanks for the advice- if i do get invited to another wedding i have other things i can wear (that were being repaired when i went to this one)
Oh and car tax - bleurgh i've got that bill this month too
Hope the sales keep coming in for you hon you are doing so wellCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Love the lucky dust DDFW, :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
 Eek to creepy people on the train though - I would definitely have been changing my password! You can never be too careful.
