Thanks DDFW, I'm tempted to go back to bed myself, except I can't because the bedding is in the wash! Well done on your sales too!
Had planned on getting up early this morning, but didn't sleep well so didn't wake up til gone 8. (That's a lie in for me)
DH has only just gone out, so I can get on now. I've just tackled one box though, and it's got a mouse nest in it :eek::eek::eek: Luckily it's abandoned, (hopefully before it came into the house ) but it's quite ewww, and I'm trying to salvage what hasn't been chewed and or pooed on!
So that's one load of washing done and out, the second in the machine, packed and posted an ebay item and another book sold on amazon :T
Unpacked and removed said banana box, so now need to sort the contents into that which will be ebayed, car boot, charity or recycled.
Bagged the nest for the bin, and frantically hoovered the floor around it *shudder*.
Removed some old curtains from the house which DH wants to keep as dust sheets  and told him if he wants to keep them he can keep them in the garage, where the mice may kindly shred them for me
Right. Off to tackle another box now *prays that there's not another nest*"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Sod that, just had phone call from a friend so I'm off out for lunch now. Much more pleasing!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

I didn't achieve an awful lot, just finished sorting the box into the ebay, charity, car boot and bin piles. It's a box done though, and a load more stuff ready to go on ebay.
Going to try and finish the book I got sent to review tonight and get that done. It's not really my sort of book, but it's ok. Always good to get a freebie anyway."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Been off booting this morning and got absolutely soaked! Oh well. Didn't buy much but DH had a good morning so he's happy."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

I haven't done much today. I finally finished the book and have reviewed it and now listed it on amazon too.
We bought a laptop at the start of the year to be a backup for the pc, as it was really old. Today I have finally bit the bullet and packed away the pc. So most of the day has been spent copying everything off the PC ready to be loaded on to the laptop at some point. It means that we can now use the wireless properly, the printer is wireless, and the laptop is about 4 times more powerful than the PC so will be much quicker and not crash so often!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi jwil and everyone i am just checking in to see how you all are
and also to have a look round and see if i left my motivation here last time i stopped by? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - i'm ok i guess - i just need a break from the constant watching of every little penny and tackling of the debts but its not really something that i can take a break from is it ?!
I'm missing the money coming in but i only sold bits on e-b*y at 99p, i've not managed to see any MS's i can apply for lately and i've had some of my p/t hours cancelled too (just cutbacks) so everything seems like a very slow trudge at the mo.
I did want to ask your advice actually jwil - i bought a 2nd hand dress (£30) which i wore to a wedding a while back. It is a lovely dress and the colour suits me and just a great cut and everything but i have no more wedding invites for this year or next year just now so i'm wondering if i should list it for sale on e-b*y? starting at maybe £10? its probably just a little too lovely to wear out for a meal etc. and i've not been for a posh meal thing for a long time anywaysOf course as soon as i sell it i'll get a wedding invite :rotfl: but at the moment its just sat in the wardrobe
I obviously like it but there is no point keeping hold of something just in case is there?
Well done on getting your laptop sorted out too jwil :T:T:T that is a huge job to achieve over the weekend so i think you did loadsCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Hi everyone.
I wasn't feeling good yesterday and was a bit down so stayed away. Feeling a bit better today so I'm back!
DDFW - when I have stuff that I'm a bit iffy about selling because I like it, or think I may use it again, I always list it with a higher starting price. I figure if it doesn't sell, then I can keep it, but if it does sell, I want a decent amount of money for it, otherwise I'll be annoyed if it goes for a small amount.
The second thing I would consider is if you *do* get a wedding invite or similar. Will you have to go and buy something else if you sell it? Or would you go and buy something else anyway, even if you didn't sell it. If it's your only dress, and you would have to buy something else, and you would *definitely* wear it again, then I would consider not selling it, or at least list it for a higher amount.
If realistically you would want to go and get a new outfit anyway, then I would sell it and have the extra cash."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
