Just taken out the 45k out of this account and put it all in a 9% account!
The 5% on this account was great while it lasted....0 -

9% Account???Waddle you do eh?0

I know a few 0.9% accounts.:D
I also know of a few investments that are yielding 9%+ but let's just say that they are a trifle riskier than bank deposits.
Even short dated Cyprus sovereign bonds are yielding less than 10%!I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Lol, sorry all....shud have mentioned it's a foreign fixed deposit bank accnt. giving 9% on any amount deposited. Thankfully it wasn't anywhere in the Eurozone and certainly not a Cypriot Bank0

That's OK as long as it's not one of those currencies where they keep having to drop a couple of zeros off the end every few years!I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Yep thanks guys, have taken all that into consideration. Only risk is currency conversion back to pounds sterling after the deposit has matured. Worth the risk with the measley rates were getting here in England though in my mind....0
