After a very, very dull morning browsing the internet we have done all our internet xmas shopping. Just need to nip to Tescos for 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle port and then we have finished all the pressie buying (except for poor Adam, whose pressie will be 'aquired' from the twin's old toys in the garage!). I am quite pleased that I have spent under £130 so far hopefully the rest will keep it under £145 - yay!

Another snow day today!!! I did travel all the way to work only to get there just as they decided to close, would have preferred to have saved the petrol money!
Tomorrow is a training day - a day off, we just have to make the 5 hours up after school between now and the summer, thats easy done.

My football match that I was refereeing on sunday has been cancelled due to the weather so theres £22 gone, but it means more time at home.

And its just started snowing again...

  • No snow so far today and we are forecast for no more today so that'll be a nice break!
I won some Tassimo T-disks this morning. Our Tassimo broke a few months ago but the in-laws have one so it could make a nice xmas pressie add on for them.
I ordered all the xmas pressies from boots.com and standard delivery would have been next Tues, when nobody would be in so went crazy and paid for next day to get it today as we are all home but I have just got an email from them saying DHL are struggling to get anywhere quickly so they will be refunding my delivery charge - bonus! That brings in the xmas pressies at under £125. DH saw that Tesco have port on offer but it was out of stock so hopefully they'll get another delivery before the offer finishes so we can save a bit more.
I have managed to glue the twins to Toy Story 2 and Adam is napping so off to do some cleaning.
We have a couple of friends coming over this evening hopefully so need to make the house a bit less horrific (clean might be a bit over-optimistic!)

Hi Twinparents  I've just read your thread, what a great read.

It's so nice to read of you two working together debtbusting. I really admire you both... how on earth you find time for all the debtbusting along with all your work & family commitments I'll never know!!
Makes me realise I'm going seriously wrong somewhere as I am a single mother of 1, only work part time yet there never seems to be enough hours in the day.

Keep up all the hard work, your sigs are looking fantastic :T
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

  • I'm really sad - all I ever think about is how to save money or help reduce our debts.
I've been thinking about one of payments you have to make like car tax, so I've been putting £30 a month away to pay for car tax and services, but then I've just realised that our car tax is due when we have the 2 month break in council tax, so one months council tax will pay for the car tax for the year, that then frees up a little bit extra money each month for debt repayment. I know it means we can't use the money for an extra debt payment but it makes it easier to find the money when we need it - I'm waffling now.
