Brrr!
Managed the 30 mile trip to the 1st fair yesterday but the weather got a lot worse just after we arrived. DH managed to get the kids over to his parents but the fair was very quiet as nobody in their right mind would have gone out in that amaount of snow. Luckily it was 10% of takings for the table so it only cost me £1.98. The journey home took us nearly 2.5 hours and then the evening fair was cancelled as the venue was inaccessible so we took advantage of a rare child free night and went out for a meal with a bottle of wine for under £30 so not too naughty (apart from for the diet!!!) and a few cheap drinks then home and in bed by a rather embarrassing 9pm. Our lie in didn't go too brilliantly as we were bothe wide awake at just after 5am but we watched I'm a celeb and the start of X factor, which soon put us back to sleep again.
We both have lots of school work to do but are going to have a yummy toad in the hole for lunch and then alternate between school work, house work and mse stuff this afternoon.Est. debt free day April 2016 (ish) Debt at June 2010 £34,247.13Debt at Dec 2011 £27,499.09 (19.7% paid off)Working together with DH on our debts (twindad07)Long haulers supporters DFW #2560 -
Hoping for a snow day tomorrow, what usually happens is we make the effort to get to school, get within 2 miles and then get told that school is closed!!!
Anyway, I've just put an offer on the website that should hopefully get us some sales and give us some debt busting money!Est. debt free day April 2016 (ish) Debt at June 2010 £34,247.13

Hi - I have just read your diary after your post on mine.
What a fantastic story and brilliant to be doing it together. It is difficult debt-busting if only one of you has had their LBM.
I plan to follow your journey and watch that debt dwindle. You are doing a great job so far and being really proactive! Well done xxxDebt August 2009 - £30,525.50Debt Paid February 2011
Another one popped out of the woodwork...time to work hard again!0 -
Set off together for work this morning, I got a phone call to say my school was shut, we made it to my wife's school, which was at this point still open, then the decision was made to shut the school. It took us nearly 2 hours to get back home.
So we now have a bonus day - still no kids they are stuck up at my parents and been there since Saturday. I think the plan is to do some house work - my wife has joined the flylady thread, then do some ebaying and business related stuff.
I might also have a look at November's financial breakdown as its payday tomorrow, we have £1.60 left in the bills account so that shows we know how much is coming out each month, we just need to work on our shopping and petrol spending now.Est. debt free day April 2016 (ish) Debt at June 2010 £34,247.13

Yippee!! Snow Day!!
Enjoy your child free day. I am equally twitchy as its our pay day tomorrow too. I end up spending the night before just playing with figures.
Great news that the bills account is working well - shows you are on the right track.Debt August 2009 - £30,525.50Debt Paid February 2011

I've just spoken to my parents - my dad is so competitive - I said we have about 7-8 inches of snow, his reply was they have atleast 2 feet of snow, I did say that's nearly the height of the kids and he said I know its really deep!!!
Anyway another kid free day - decided its safest to leave the kids where they are and are safe rather than try and drive with them home.
