Same here :) I just practise-assembled the bracket/motor/mount in the living room & couldn't resist putting the dish on too. Good job I assembled it, helped me figure things out. I'm really looking forward to using this & messing with it. I can't comment on the system (I have read a LOT about it & it's meant to be superb for the £) the ebay seller provides a fast service, although my dish had two small dents on the perimeter (the surface is ok).

  • hi,
with all this satellite dish talk can any1 pick up any american stations i.e. NBC ( free to air)? I'm trying to convince dh to get and set up one of these.

    thanks
  • I to have Tecnomate 1500 with dragon cam and yes its good but its not the be all and end all. For starters if your talking about patches then the satellite game is a strange one. Sometimes encryptions are hacked and sometimes they become secure. Not everything is hacked and all patching is illegal. It can also be frustrating because you may get use to channels that are available and another day its gone.

The satellite game is a hobby. However if you are a footie fan then I wold truely recommend a system with the art arabesque card. All premiership football games are shown live with english commentary and you pay about a £100 for 1 year card. It doesnt have to be motorised you can get a fixed dish with twin lnb pointing at 13e and 19e that is where the vast majority of stuff is. You cant pick up everything with a motorised dish you have to check satellite footprints. America and asia is a no while you will strugle to get the middle east.

I have had my system for a while and I have not regretted for 1 moment

hi to all, l bought one of those satellites from lidl. I got this professional installer to sort it out, he set the dish on the roof and thier was singal and no channel was showing. The next day my neighbour comes round and tells me that my cable was feed into his dish, and my satellite dish was not even installed properly on the roof.

Can you beleive that, the sat guy feed my cable into his dish, never even installed my dish correctly, and he even insisted that my receiver was broken and thats why l was getting no channels or reception.

And l had previous estimates and they all said this can be installed on the side of the wall and does not need to be on the roof. This plonker said oh it will not work thier, only the roof will get the signal,

Truly amazing, l never knew society possesed people like this !!!!!! fool, but l will be suing him and his company, see you in court, now whos gonna have the last laugh

If there's nothing blocking the angle where you want to point your dish, then it can be placed no problem on the side of the wall. The guy who installed it just wanted to make a quick buck. But surely, by disconnecting your neighbour's dish to put yours in, he was asking for trouble and was going to be caught. Do you have enough info to prove that he did it (receipt etc..)? I hope you get it all sorted.

Almost certainly you are not pointing at the satellite that you think you are.

I could get sats at 13E, 19E and 28.2E with the 35cm dish but no others without using a bigger dish.

i notice the ebay guy selling these has lots of packages, now I see the point of the motorized system, and even suppying a crad. what I'm curious about is does the dish size make much difference?

If you get a bigger dish, you'll be able to get signals from satellites that are further away

i'd gathered that much, but do you actually get much more worth having? or is it just size& quantity for sake of it?
