Take care that the 40mm flange LNB will fit your $ky dish, it might not.Turvey wrote:LNBs from Lidl should do the trick (if not someone on here will soon put me right;) ) Easy to change, just make sure you get proper amalgamating tape to seal it, insulating tape WONT do!
Hope this is of some help to you. Good luck.
P.S DONT TAKE RISKS!!! Its only telly.
I understand that self amalgamating tape has fallen out of favour...0 -
I've got the SL65 and the SL65/12 and was using the loop through to feed one LNB to both. The H/V polarization needs to be the same on both channels. The SL65/12 has better/quicker software than last years SL65 which can't be u/g to the SL65/12 but I don't know if the current SL65 can.Dustsucks wrote:Seems like a good system so far. Does anyone know what the IF output connector on the rear of the unit is for? Can I daisy-chain another satellite receiver (analogue) through it to the same LNB? TIA.
I got 28E, 19E and 13E with the supplied dish (35cm?)with the SL65/12 but nothing else. 28E is relatively lower in the sky so more vulnerable to lower obstructions.
I fitted all the SL65/12 kit into a laptop case, although the top of the dish pokes out from the side pocket, it's lighter and smaller then the blowmold case, but loses the case-as-dish-support option.0 -

Hi,
Can someone please tell me how to set up this as I just bought one today and there is no signal at all. Also, on this receiver, will I be able to get Asia channel.
Many thanks0 -
I also brought one of those satellite systems from LIDL, Just a tip maybe get rid of that stupid signal bleeper thing... The best way would be to select a channel from the satellite you think you may be able to receive then select info. Once selected info I think you press 1 which will make a toned noise effect. Turn your television up quite loud, this too will make a high pitched noise which will enable you to set the dish up without someone sitting around. I ended up taking mine back as the best reception I got was connected to our rotary line, which I thought might be a little awkward when the wife does the washing!!!
No problems with the refund, I took it back and told the manager it kept cutting out, he informed me that they have had quite a few back!!

Thanks John for your advise.
I will be taking mine back today. I was worried about the refund.Hope I get a full refund.

You need to have the receiver tuned to channels on the particular satellite you're aiming for. If you have the receiver tuned to frequencies/channels on another satellite the beeper can be sounding high pitch (strong signal) but no picture showing. I use a portable TV close to the dish (on a dry day) so I can see the 'results'. The adjustment angles needed are quite small, although you can 'hand hold' the dish for a quick scan to see if there are obstructions to a particualr sat. It's not for those with no patience, especially digi-sat, but the more you do the easier/quicker it gets as your more likely to figure out which bit of the 'whole' receiving kit is causing any probs.happy888 wrote:Hi,

After seeing similar questions on this thread can someone settle an argument with me and husband.
We live in a house with satelite dish and cables etc(installed probably about 9 years ago). We have never been a Sky subscriber - equipment left by previous owner.
I said to my husband - can't we just buy a digibox and viewing card to get freesat and he says no the dish would need to be changed to a digital one.0 -
if its not a sky digital dish then no you will not recieve anything Sky Analogue was closed down completely on September 27th 2001.0
