Board Reorganisation - let it rip

Right we've finished the board reorganisation, and i'm expecting criticism. I know change is often not the best thing. So i thought I would set out my reasons first and then let you have your say (nothing is set in stone yet).
Why the change?
The boards had grown organically, it was time to structure them into categories, to make it easier to find, and so people could work out where to post what?
Why the use of sub-boards?
This means there are now 35 rather than the old 50 main boards, so its easier to scan down. Sub-boards help keep topics more specific and organise the site. Also many of the less popular boards have now become sub-boards, as have the boards that duplicate each others content.
Isn't it more difficult to navigate
To be honest I think it will be much easier for newbies. I suspect regulars will at first find it fiddly and i'm guessing won't like it. However i think it's one of those things (like the added bar on the left) that people will get used to quickly and will see as a benefit.
Always remember the 'quick jump' box at the bottom of any page which can speed you directly to the board you want. Or you can use your favourites to link to your regular boards too.
Can it be changed back
Yes. We have great flexibility to move stuff around with Vbulletin and if there is a compelling reason i will change stuff. However i'd like to try it like this first.
Please reply with your views, feedback and suggestions.

The ODDS and SODS are just sub-forums ......can't we have the arms and discussions back as forums and funny money and polls as sub -forums
It all looks upside down when you go in the arms :rolleyes:0 -
I like most of the changes - I think Martin is right with the fact that it did need doing as everything was cluttered. However I agree with Traf that the arms should still be a main forum, and not a sub.The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0

I've bowed to pressure - now MSA has its own category and is the top sub-forum of its own categoryMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Could we have the time at the top of the page back please.
Where it says you last visited I keep thinking that's the time.
edit: I do have a watch but if I looked at that I would have to take my eyes off the screen.0 -
I think pushing the arms further and further down the boards is only gonna stop newbies especially from coming in.
I understand that the emphasis of the site is to save money but theres also the fact that we have a community of members that gather and chat in the arms to put ya feet up and relax after all the rigours of day to day stuff, surely we want to be encouraging members to come in and chat.
some people find it embarrassing to post a query and at least if they feel welcome in the arms it will give them that extra boost to ask for help and advice.
So please dont push us down into the Cellar where no one can find usNobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

Perhaps MSA as a heading needs more description of what is in it "chat, discussion & polls"? Polls doesn't seem to fit there though shouldn't it be something to do with "This Site"?Torgwen..........
