You could try ringing CCCS - see here: http://www.cccs.co.uk/InfoCentre/NonUKresidents.aspx
apparently they can help, you just need to call them first with you credit details and speak to an adviser....0 -
what would you say is the main advantage of a DMP, the fact that CCCS for example deals with the creditors on your behalf so you don't have to deal with them directly, or something else?
i am trying to decide whether dmp with debtline or cccs is for me or should i try to go at it directly on my own..
thanks!0 -
Whether you do it yourself, or with a company, it's still a DMP at the end of the day.
The advantage of going with a company is that they make all the payments for you, and make the offers at the beginning. That being said, any issues with the creditors, it's sometimes best that you deal direct with them, rather than through the DMP company. I guess the other advantage (certainly with CCCS) is that you're dealing with a company that the creditors recommend that you use should you come into any financial difficulties.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi
My DMP is going better than expected. today i recieved a letter from Nationwide CC saying they have issued me a pre debt collection notice. it says I must pay up in full or they are going to get KPR debt collection to recover the full amount. Has anyone had the same letter?? or have any advise to give????
Nationwide gave me a six month interest suspended if I keep payments upto date. i have even increased my payment during this period.
Thanks in advance for the replies.....
sorry - nothing good to say about Nationwide! - after 11 months of payment they have taken me to court  - went through KPR polava (its their in house idiot team) - for me they have mad no effort to help me at all and in house communication is horiffic! - having said all that there seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to who they pursue - I own my property so maybe thats the reason they have gone after me for a CO! - hope you experience of them is better! don't give in and stand your ground!:D0 -

I owed 400 quid ish for an OD through them, and was passed to KPR and Moorcroft. I did have issues (for some reason they had an incorrect address), but certainly no worse than my other larger OD with Abbey (Snatander).
Um, not a lot else to say, but good luck!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi There, I have received a letter from Debenhams (now part of Santander) saying that before they accept any temporary arrangement I must complete an IE form (which they have enclosed), proof of income, bank statements and statements from all other creditors. They also want a valid telephone number in order to process my application. They say if I do not provide any of the info that they MAY take me to court - am I right to ignore this letter as I have entered into a DMP with CCCS?
Thanks

It maybe worth having a word with CCCS, as Debenhams should already have an IE from CCCS. Not sure about the phone number though, just say you don't have one!?!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Thanks Ian, I thought that the CCCS would have sent them an IE and I'm sure that I have read on here somewhere that as long as they have one route of communication then they can't force me to give a phone number and I have asked that all communication be in writing.
I will give the CCCS a ring
Thanks again

Hi. I had this with my Asda CC. I wrote back to them saying I was replying to their letter dated..... and that I had been advised by CCCS that they had already been sent an I and E. I also said I had requested CCCS to send another and I enclosed a copy. I did not fill in theirs or send payslips. There is no guarantee but after this they stopped interest for me. I think they just do this so you fill in and panic, miss something off and then they can demand a higher payment.

Three years ago we had our LBM . I remember the dreadful sleepless nights , panic and misery that we went through thinking 'how did we get to this' and 'will we lose the house'
We then started our DMP with Payplan and sleep /peace of mind slowly returned!
We are now halfway there and our lives have turned around, it hasn't always been easy and we have had to make some hard decisions along the journey, however our lives have returned to normal , we are happier and we no longer think of debt every minute of the day.
I just wanted to say that life can get better and I wish all the best to those starting out on their DMP0
